My Dad was listening to ESPN radio and my Dad was telling me that (I am deaf) they just confirmed that a possible deal between the Cowboys and Raiders might have a possible deal that the Raiders will send Charles Woodson to the Cowboys for the Cowboys #11 pick and Dat Nyugen but if this deal does actually happen, the Cowboys would have been robbed but it would have been more sense if the Cowboys sent the #20 pick and Dat Nyugen instead of the #11 pick. It could happen as soon as the end of today and early tomorrow.
If you say I'm a liar or whatever, fine, I'm just letting you know.

A pick and Dat Nyguen is too much, Dat Nyguen even up and I would go for it.

I actually would take Charles Woodson over Ty Law. I wouldn't mind seeing Woodson across from Newman. But damn, one of our first rounders and Dat Nguyen for Charles? That is a pricey deal. And we'd better hope and pray that Woodson plays like a Pro Bowler for the whole contract.

Yeah i was listening too it to. They said its a possibility but not likely that dallas would do it.
That would be such a bonehead deal! Id do Nguyen for Woodson without the pick as nguyen sucks anyways...
But if it happened
It would say a lot about what they thought of the young FA's available

Dat is the most over rated Cowboy by Cowboys fans...
He is ok, even should have been a pro bowler over Urlacher last year, but he is replaceable, and disappears way to often. The other thing that I find curious about Dat Nyguen is he has the Jim Fassel, Mike Zimmer disease, one year he is good, next he disappears.
I would swap him for Woodson without a second thought.

There's no way we're giving the #11 AND a defensivve starter for Woodson. I'll give them the #20 and no player for Woodson and one of their late picks.

Exactly the #11 pick in the draft is much too high of a price to pay for Woodson. Dallas is better off signing Lucas, Smoot or Baxter and keeping their first round picks. This trade makes no sense from Dallas' perspective.

If the Tuna is serious about winning the NFC East, he might be looking at a DB that can match up against TO... The only DB in the NFL that can do that is (a healthy) Charles Woodson, in my opinion.

I don't see it happening. Parcells just said a couple of months ago that with today's rule enforcement on the PI penalties, a shutdown corner is about a thing of the past. He hinted that the only way to stop offenses is to have a dominating front seven.
So now he's going to go out and trade a high #1 pick and a very solid MLB/ILB for a corner?
Methinks not.

I think the key words are that the Raiders proposed this, not that Dallas would do it.
I could see this if the Boys were considering cutting Dat, but the way BP talked about him last year, I doubt that.
Even so, Woodson wants major $. He is a good (not great) CB, but he will be expensive. I would hate to see any 1st round pick sent for a guy that will also take up a lot of cap space. I would rather overspend on a good free agent CB.
Heck, you could sign an old guy like Law AND take a CB at #11 to cover your bases. Or you could give up a lesser pick for a guy like Surtain.
It is a bad idea on many levels. It just sounds made up, because it is so lopsided. The Raiders don't have a lot of leverage with Woodson, he sould come at a discount in a trade.

That trade sounds nauseating. When you can sign a player like Smoot or Lucas for no compensation, why would you trade a high pick and a defensive starter for a CB?
Offseason disaster if that projected trade goes down.

Jerry and Al Davis are good friends.
Davis is in cap hell, and Jerry can rescue him. Davis is in a pickle more than Jerry is. Jerry has his pick of the litter when it comes to FA CBs. Why would he do Davis a favor by trading away a 1st round pick AND getting him out of cap hell?
Jerry will not give up more than a 2nd round pick for Woodson. Book it!
Jerry has learned that trading away 1st round draft picks is not a good recipe for success.

Don't read too much into this. Oakland probably offered to trade Woodson for this price. It doesn't mean that Dallas will take the offer.
The pressure is on Oakland to unload Woodson, and not Dallas to pick him up. Dallas, or any other team sets the price...not Oakland.

I'm interested in knowing the cap situation this would provide.
Would trading Dat hurt the cap space or actually improve it.
If it's the latter then it would make sense to help cushion Woodson's hit.
I would much rather it be the #20 pick though, that's for sure.

i absolutely HATE the idea of tinkering with either of our 1st round picks to add a corner. adding dat into the equation only compounds my feelings.
this move is never gonna happen. the MAIN objective of this offseason, IMO, is to finally acquire the the ingredients for a legit passrush - front 7.
other objectives will be addressed - but not at the expense of the primary one.

Possibilty of Dat leaving....
Can you say Kendrell Bell?
I've never understood the big deal over Woodson. He's a very good CB but Dyson has 16 career INTs also in half as many seasons while A. Henry has 17. Did I mention both are half the price and younger, too. There's too many quality FA CBs to go spending the house on any one.

I don't know if Surtain will cost more than Woodson, but Miami is not even asking for a high 1st round pick.

Let's be realistic here, guys. The Raiders are really screwed right now. They traded for Randy Moss (though it hasn't officially gone through) and that trade, combined with Woodson signing his tender (which no one expected), sends the boys in black way into the salary cap red.
They're up against a wall. They have no choice except to move Woodson, else they'll be cutting four or five other quality players. It's inevitable, and they're desperate.
As someone who has purchased several investment properties, I can tell you that there is no better situation than finding a desperate seller. They may ask for the world, but in the end you can find yourself many a bargain.
Now, I have no doubt in my mind that they'd ASK for #11 and our starting middle linebacker. And I don't doubt that Bill would consider moving Dat, considering the move to the 3-4 defense.
My gut tells me that this deal gets done, and it looks more like either Dallas' #20 pick (straight up) or Dat plus a second day pick in 2006 that can conditionally be a 1st day pick.
