Cowboys' speedy McCann keeps leaving doubts in the dust

IRVING – Bryan McCann understood he would face a new round of skeptics. The NFL would question his size and strength the way every coach before had done.

What he didn't realize was that he needed to convince his own teammates. That hit home shortly after SMU's season was over and several of the Mustangs asked McCann what he intended to do now that football was no longer an option.

"Hey, it's not over," McCann told them. "I feel like I'm far from done playing football."

Done? The Cowboys hope McCann is just getting started.

He returned an interception 101 yards for a touchdown in his first NFL game at cornerback. He returned a punt 97 yards for a touchdown in his second.

I think he's doing a fairly good job of playing corner considering the following A. He's a rookie

and

B. He's a rookie free agent.

I think he did pretty well on the pick-6 against the Giants.

He watched film, paid attention, knew what the tendencies were with the receiver he was cover, played using the right technique and BOOM! Int & TD.

The passes completed against him were tight completions, where he was providing good coverage. And the PI call was BS.
