ARLINGTON -- There were a bunch of could-be's and might-have-been's for the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.
But there was no new Thanksgiving Day hero to be added to the team's rich lore.
Receiver Roy Williams had a chance to remake his star-crossed career in Dallas with a seemingly game-sealing 47-yard catch-and-run until a fumble at the end of the play paved the way for the New Orleans Saints' go-ahead touchdown.
And then maligned kicker David Buehler's chance at glory to tie the game from 59 yards out in the finals seconds went wide left.
The defending Super Bowl champion Saints escaped with a 30-27 win, and their legion of giddy fans, who made up at least half of the 93,985 announced crowd, danced out of Cowboys Stadium.
