IRVING -- Even before quarterback Tony Romo was sidelined with a broken left collarbone, the Dallas Cowboys' visit Sunday to Indianapolis to play the Colts was penciled in as a loss by the gurus in Las Vegas.
The powerful Colts have averaged 12.3 regular-season victories in the past nine seasons. They have played in two of the past four Super Bowls, winning at the end of the 2006 season. With the home-field advantage and Peyton Manning at quarterback, the Cowboys surely would be underdogs.
But something strange has happened in Indianapolis, where a combination of injuries and lack of depth has the Colts struggling worse than they have since 2001 when they were 6-10.
