"I live in Mississippi, and FA CB Fred Smoot was back here in his home town and held an autograph session.
He was interviewed by some news reporters and it aired on my local news tonight. They asked him where he wants to play if he could go anywhere.
"I actually want to go back to play ball in FedEx field. I'd love to be on the other side....of that rivalry. Everyone that loves NFC East football knows what I'm talking about." "

I hope he comes here, him or lucas, im not to high on baxter

Why does he supposedly want to play in Dallas?

If I'm not mistaken, he grew up a big time Dallas fan.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

That said....never trust anything reported on ESPN boards.

If he said that to a reporter, then it was most likely reported in a newspaper. And if it was reported anywhere, it'd be newsworthy....which means we'da heard about it from somewhere other than a random poster on the crappy ESPN boards.

Who wouldn't want to be a Dallas Cowboy?

Well I know that I would.
How bad would it be to grow up a Cowboy fan and then be drafted by the Redskins... :ralph:

In other words we are his 2nd choice. His priorities are out of whack.

If the Cowboys signed Fred Smoot, I'd be happy. I think the kid definitely has a nose for the ball. He's cocky and plays with a swagger. He could definitely help this defense.

I like Smoot more than most, but the price would have to be right.

I can't shake this feeling that Lucas is the priority for the Cowboys though. That's also fine by me.

I'm not a big Fred Smoot fan...he's small and while he has improved as a tackler he still gets run over or dragged alot...his ball skills are ok but not great...I also recall him managing like only 4 reps on the bench press coming out of school, thats sad...I can do 12 reps of 225

the biggest problem I have with Smoot is that he wants a TON of money...he isnt worth a 10+ million signing bonus...I thought I read the Skins offered him a decent deal late last season but he turned it down and asked for something like 14 mils up front...maybe one of the Skin fans who post here knows the specifics

At this point, I'd take any warm body that can play.

The last few years........

He did officially state he wanted to be a Cowboy before he was drafted.

I have no idea about his current predilections.

Coming out he thought he was Deion and wanted to be drafted by Dallas.

His tackling and jawjacking is rather Deionesque.

I agree with this statement completely. He expects to be paid like one of the best but has yet to prove that he is. Were he playing for Minnesota or Indy his flaws would be alot more obvious. Washington's defensive scheme would make darned near any DB look good.

It won't ruin my day if we end up with him, but I'd much rather see Lucas in here.
