The Choice is clear: Go with Tashard
By Tim McMahon
INDIANAPOLIS -- A few days after his radio rip job on Tashard Choice's special teams work, Jerry Jones didn't seem too concerned about the running back's ability to cover punts and kickoffs.
Choice's 100-yard performance apparently knocked some common sense into the Dallas Cowboys' owner/general manager.
"He's about to earn himself a spot where he doesn't have to make up for his special teams shortcoming," Jones said after the Cowboys' 38-35 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts. "The third back has to be a whiz. But if you're the second back, you don't necessarily need to be a whiz on special teams."

I don't even care that Jerry gave TC a backhanded compliment there, all I care about is that he just implied that Choice is going to be promoted to the #2 back.
I wonder how many people will hate Jerry's GM meddling if he tells Garrett he has to bench Barber for Choice? :laugh2:

The number #1 Choice in my book... He's the most complete back on the team, he's tough, great vision and has the will!

Play the running back who is the most productive and gives you the best chance to win.
Than running back is Tashard Choice.
He's proven it more than enough times for it to sink in.
It gives me no joy to say it, but Marion Barber needs to go.
For a multitude of reasons.

Wow, WG was right... MacMahon really does hate Barber.
Probably comes from the fact that Marion wouldn't talk to the media. At least our wonderful local media crew isn't petty.

Does being a complete back include blocking, selling fakes, running routes? How do we know he's doing all that as well as Barber? I didn't see the game, but I do think the staff sees more of Choice that I ever will.

They also supposedly saw enough of Sean Lee to feel he was unable to fill their nickel linebacker role.
In my opinion, they look just as foolish for that decision as they do for their reluctance to play Choice.

Stash is right here: The Cowboys' staff saw more of Miles Austin and Doug Free than we fans do, but it took injuries for those guys to get a chance to play and shine. Choice has already done well in a similar situation. And Barber has demonstrably not played that well this season.
Whatever the deal is, it doesn't seem to make sense from the production standpoint.
