By Calvin Watkins

With a few hours to go before the Cowboys host the Eagles on Sunday night, we've got some random thoughts heading into the game:

1. The ending of Marion Barber (http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4675653/random-thoughts-for-sunday-night#comments)'s time in Dallas. One thing that's been noted the last 12 days or so is how much better the running game looks with just two runners doing it.

2. Last week, Tony Romo (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=5209) said he was still having some discomfort in his left collarbone. He's still basically a week away from possibly doing something full-time on the practice fields.

3. Yes, Dez Bryant (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=13215) doesn't know all the plays and a full offseason will fix that. But there was concern about Kevin Ogletree (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=12588) learning the plays as well this past offseason, and it's funny how everyone forgot how badly he looked during training camp.

if the MBIII era in Dallas is over now, he has zero trade value. Aside from blocking, he's done nothing this year except from his dancing after his standard 2 or 3 yard runs.

It's a shame how quickly someone can drop from a pride of the franchise to odd man out.

Seriously, Marion out and Choice/Felix in only makes sense. You don't need a three headed monster. It gets confusing.

1. The ending of Marion Barber (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=8523)'s time in Dallas. One thing that's been noted the last 12 days or so is how much better the running game looks with just two runners doing it.I know it's Calvin Watkins so it doesn't warrant this level of thought or response, but there are two things wrong with this.

1. We used only two runners earlier in the season. Choice averaged about one carry per game over the first 10 weeks of the season. So, the "success" if there's been any hasn't been with reducing the trio of running backs down to two.

2. As percy's thread shows, there hasn't been any more success (http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201238) running the ball lately than before. The difference, of course, is that we're simply running more, not better.
