I love Terrence Malick's work. His new film was shot in Texas near Austin (Smithville, TX). Stars Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. Looks like his most beautiful film to date. If you don't know Malick, he's probably the most artistic director working today.

I'm not a big fan of his. I don't considering myself to have a short attention span, but in both of the movies I've seen of his, I've checked my watch the entire time through.

I've seen "A Thin Red Line" numerous times and always thought it was under appreciated. So I'm looking forward to checking this out.

For the people who complain about trailers giving too much away nowadays....this one's for them.
I have no clue what it's about.

Me either, I had to go to IDMB to check it out.
All that says is "The story centers around a family with three boys in the 1950s. The eldest son witnesses the loss of innocence."
Can't say that appeals to me in any way.

The only thing I would watch Sean Penn do, is shoot himself in the head.

I've only seen The Thin Red Line and this is how I felt. Actually, it's one of the very few movies I've sat down to try and watch and just had to give up on it.
I don't believe I've seen anything else he's made.

Agreed. Thought it was a pretty decent movie all the way. Nolte should have been recast as anyone else, but other than that pretty good. I would say it was a literary war movie as opposed to a more commercial style traditionalist war film.
