Columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor answered your questions in his weekly e-mail newsletter - Inside the Dallas Cowboys. Here are some highlights.

Peter Trulli asks ... As Jason Garrett spoke to Andy Reid during their postgame handshake, Garrett was seen on national TV smiling and laughing it up with Reid. The Eagles are a much-hated divisional rival. Maybe we should make as much of that as we have Tashard Choice asking for an autograph.

TAYLOR: This is what I think every time someone says something like that: This is not the '70, '80 or '90s anymore. This is a new generation. This is a different time. These guys change teams every four-five years. These guys pray together after games. These guys have known each other since they played in high school All-American games or went to the Nike summer camp together. They communicate via Twitter or Facebook, and they work each other's camps during the summer when they're not partying together. A lot of them share the same agents.

This is a different era. You simply have to accept it. All you should concern yourself is how hard do you believe a guy prepared to play or coach. If you believe he gave it his all, then you shouldn't care what he does after the game. I competed on the Cowboys' beat for a decade with one of my best friends, and I tried to kick his behind every single day and twice on Sunday as mama would say.

Roy Williams is showing up in games this year and playing well at time, but at critical times, he makes critical errors. Two critical lapses this year equal two losses. Do you think JJ and staff take these "lapses" into account?

As they should... He's clearly not worth the contract dished out however Jerry Jones can only blame himself.

Agreed. I hope they keep him. I know some on here like to talk about how they can draft a rookie to contribute what he has for less money. Great idea on paper. Executing is another story. Just cause you draft the guy to do it, doesn't mean he will.

Plus, as much as Dez was impressive this season, reports of him not knowing the playbook well does give me pause as to whether I'd go into next season counting on him. If it was me, I'd try to keep Roy under a lower contract number IN CASE Dez doesn't progress as much as everyone thinks he will in the offseason.

I think Roy will be willing to rework the contract...

I would imagine. He's a smart guy. He knows he's not getting a huge payday again with the stats he's had the last couple years.

He's had several quality plays this year. A couple bad that stick out. But I remember at least more than a few times he's made a tough catch in the middle and getting drilled. I don't know if there is anyone else on the roster that's taken that kind of punishment.

I have no issue with having him take a pay cut and keeping him.

Yeah he can make the tough catches...

I'm afraid some would agree also to a circle jerk even if they were invited into the barrell...:rolleyes:I don't think I would rush to break up one of the really functional positional groups on the team.

Adam would be the one to know but I thought he was already paid a hefty bulk of his contract.

Why would any player accept a pay cut? I wouldn't.

We had Sam Hurd, of all people, refuse a pay cut this year, so he kept his money and stayed with the team.

Roy shouldn't accept a pay cut, and I'm sure his agent will tell him that. The Cowboys signed the contract...personally, I think both players and teams need to honor their contracts.

If Roy were released, you can bet there are teams like the Redskins and many others who would love to have a big (physically) receiver.

I wouldn't take any pay cut...I doubt that he will.

Miles Austin hasn't earned his money either...down year for him...are we going to ask him to take a pay cut? Did we ask MBIII to take a paycut?

You make your deals...you owe the money....same for the player, imo.

Is it a down year? Or did he overachieve last year and this year is more realistic? If the latter, the Cowboys probably will be viewed as having overpaid again.

Miles was having a strong start to the season. Kitna doesn't seem to look his way that much.

He started off decent enough. Though he did drop a few. Memory says before the '09 season he dropped passes but I may be wrong.

I'm not sure about the terms of Roy's contract specifically, but one thing to remember is that larger contracts generally carry a large up front bonus, and the trade off is that the team can bail on the contract at some point after a few years and not be obligated to pay the player from that point forward.

In other words, all of the money is not necessarily guaranteed, therefore Roy may not have the ability to force the team to pay him the full amount. It may come down to Roy either accepts a pay cut or accepts being unemployed.
