Cameron Jordan - DE - Cali
I think he'll really rise come draft day and I think we could pick him at around 10-12.
Watched some tape and he generates tons of pressure for a DE in a 3-4.
Him and Spears with Rat and Butler would be deadly.

Vela thinks he is an option if we cannot get Fairley.

I have been getting the same feeling for some reason
Some so called experts dont have him rated very high....see espn and some rave about him
I havent seen him play this year so can only go from reports but if Bunting is high on him that is good enough for me
He seems to be the DL that best fits our needs. Dareus, Heyward and the Iowa kid all seem to be young versions of Spears, meaning big space eaters with no explosion from what i have seen this year
Maybe one other DL that is starting to peak my interest is Paea(?) the nose tackle from Oregon State. Again early rankings vary on him but a big time nose tackle would be nice around 10-12th pick
i have that same exact vibe.
but im still rooting for us to trade down and grab a lineman

Gabe Carimi.
If we're going to pick linemen, you pick them from schools like Boston College, Penn State, Wisconsin, etc.

I think Jordan's stock will rise in the coming months and he will be a strong candidate for the Cowboys 1st pick. Paea could be a possibility as well, depending on the type of 3-4 we run. I think Wade would have liked Paea in his defense but I'm not sure he would fit in the Parcells version of the 3-4.

Is he considered around the same type of player that the Jags took in the first round when everyone thought they reached. Really can not remember his name but it turned out pretty good for them...so far.
I think that player also played for the same team at the same position but I could be wrong.

Tyson Alualu?
Yup, that's him. All I remember from that guy is that he blew up Free on the goaline, flat out pancaked him.
Jordan has got some quickness to him, he kind of reminds me of Ratliff. Good swim move and gets up up the field fast. Can he stop the run though, he looks a little small to be a 3/4 DE.

Yep but so far he has made them look pretty good with that pick.
Sure they probably could have traded down a few picks and still got him, but if it is a guy they really like, they were ok not taking the chance of missing out on him.
That is why sometimes it is best to wait a bit before ripping on a team for taking this player or that player at a specific slot.
I liked that thread earlier this week or last that showed how some of the picks from last years draft would be slotted now if they redid the draft. Many of those high first round can't miss prospects would be much lower and some of the players some thought was taken too high would be towards the top.

I'll take reaching for what turns out to be a good player over getting "good value" for a bust any day.

Cameron Jordan is/was a much better prospect then Alualu. Jordan is producing with jags on the d-line. Alualu had Jordan for a few years. Plus, when all is said and done, I think Jordan will be projected to go top 15. Alualu was a huge reach there.
