Joe Webb-QB- Vikings Jan. 17 - 11:08 am et
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier has reiterated his desire for the team to acquire a franchise quarterback this offseason."
So, zoners is Favre finally done?
We've got to find a quarterback," Frazier said. "You look at the playoff teams and none of them really have an issue at quarterback, they have their starting quarterback and most likely for years to come. We've got to find us a quarterback that we can build our franchise around, and if we do, it's going to stabilize a lot of things for our team and our organization." Joe Webb is viewed as nothing more than a backup in the long term. Expect the Vikes to look hard at taking a quarterback in the first round of the draft, and they could also bring in a veteran for a year to bridge the gap.

i have nothing but respect for the way he plays and the career he had. he's one of the greatest to play in our lifetimes to be sure.
but he's also the biggest prima donna who makes everything about him.

I will miss watching him too, but I don't think it's likely that he would have been fun to watch going forward anyway. It would have problably been painful watching a guy like that continue to struggle and get beat up, so I'm glad he is pulling the plug.

Hung around one year too long and tarnished what he has done in the past. I am a fan of the player. Not the person. Good luck In retirement.

Hanging in a year too long didn't tarnish what he has done, the annual game playing with his teams and his sexting scandal are what did that. I can't imagine anyone feeling less about Favre as a player because of a final year where his team collapsed.

I think most will miss him play. They won't miss the drama of his "I'm retiring/I'm playing". The media certainly played a part in making it a circus every year, but Favre also played it up. There is a separation between him actually being on the field and the off field drama that has happened the last few years. I won't miss the latter. Strange that two of his former teams could possibly be facing off in the Superbowl.

Good riddance.
To me he is one of the most overrated of all time.

This is finally it for him. He played so poorly for the Vikings, no team would pay him enough $$ to make it worth his while to come back.
To play nearly 300 games in a row is incredible. Most guys can't make it thru one season, let alone nearly 20.
Favre is a link to the past for many of us. Favre was out there slinging it around when Dallas was dominating with the triplets, yet Aikman and Irvin have been gone for over a decade. I was still in college when Favre came into the league. Although I've never liked him, I've appreciated his play. It's disappointing that he's tarnished his own legacy with his off-the-field behavior with the Jets.

I think this is for real. Aside from the poor play and beating he took this year, I think the sexting scandal will fade out of the limelight much quicker if he isn't playing.

The guy I'll miss watching hasn't played in a couple of seasons.
