If you feel like explaining why, go ahead.

No particular order. I love archaeological sites.

1. Machu Picchu in Peru.

2. Masada fortress in Israel.

3. Colosseum in Rome, Italy.

4. The Great Wall of China.

5. Pyraminds and Sphinx in Egypt.

I've been to the Colosseum and it's really cool. Rome in general was awesome.

I'd love to go to Ireland, Germany and Austria, because that's where my ancestry is from.

I'd love to go to New Zealand and am actually planning a trip there in the next year or so.

I've always thought it would be great to go to Spain during the festival and the running of the bulls.

1. Outer Space ( I say this due to the future possibility of passenger space flight)

2. Pyramids/Sphinx.

3. Brussels...I hear Belgium is awesome, plus I love Belgium beer and butter cookies.

4. China

5. Philly. I've never been anywhere on the east coast. Aside from the Eagle hatred (admittedly a part of why I want to go), I think Philly would be a fun city. I also want to wear Cowboys gear everyday I'm there. A bit of a social experiment, I guess.

That is not a social experiment but an invitation to get your butt kicked. I remember when a bunch of my friends were in Montreal and these people just were staring at us. We left a bar and few of the locals came out and started yelling at us. One of my friend what was their problem and it I looked at one of my other friend and he was wearing a Boston Bruin T-shirt. The Bruins just eliminated the Canadians from the playoffs.

If you're going to pick one place to visit on the East Coast, I'd definitely recommend doing 1)Washington D.C. and 2)New York City LONG LONG before Philly.

I lived in Philly for four years and it's nothing special. I'd rank Boston higher as well for it's historical value. In fact, if you're just looking at Pennsylvania, I'd put places like Gettysburg and Lancaster (Amish country) higher.

You could spend a week in either D.C. or NYC and find fun, memorable things to do the whole time. But Philly you can cover in a day and you'd have seen all there is to see and still have time for a cheesesteak.

When I was in Montreal I went to the Mary, Queen of the World cathedral and it just abosolutely blew my mind, it was so immense and intricate. Then I came home, looked it up and found out it was an exact one third scale replica of St. Peter's Cathedral and now I can't get it out of my head.

I want to go to Rome so badly, and the Colosseum is up there... but when I get there, I think the first thing I see is St. Peter's Cathedral (and that's coming from a non-Christian, so this is in a purely non-pilgrimmage viewpoint).

Just in general, there's so much to see in Rome, it'd be great to go (especially as a bit of a Roman history buff). The Forum, the Palantine hill, the Spanish steps, the Pantheon, the Trevi fountain... could go on and on.

Hell, just being in the same city as men like Marius, Ceasar, Augustus, Trajan, Cicero would be mind blowing to me.

I went in 2002. It was really fun. Drum and bass (the music i listen to) was created there, so I got to shop in record stores owned by my favorite DJ's. The city itself was really cool. It's huge, and historic in some places. We did alot of "touristy" type stuff (Big Ben, London Tower, etc). I highly reccomend a trip there.

In no order :

Denver
Seattle
Puerto Rico
Turks and Caicos
Cuba

As a bonus the Florida keys. I have a condo in Miami but still after all these years have never taken the trip to the keys. My cousin makes fun of me but I have so much fun doing other stuff too.

I travel every year, but these are places that I have never been to that I want to go to. Denver will be coming up first or the Keys.

1. Paris for no reason other than the Louvre.

2. Berlin

3. Tokyo. It's an awesome testament to man's resilience that the Japanese rebulit that city so many times after Godzilla destroyed half of it.

4. Pearl Harbor, specifically the Arizona Memorial

5. Antarctica. No joke, I wanna go meteorite hunting.

1: Budapest, Hungary. For the history. A crossroads of Europe.

2: Australia. Almost made it there once when I was a sprat.

3: Bahia, Brazil for Carnival. Great music, culture, and Boom Boom!

4: Turkey. Lots of world travellers I have met have tabbed Turkey
the favorite place that they've visited. I'd like to see why.

5: Grenada, West Indies. One of the more interesting spice islands.

Though everyone should have Hawaii on their list as a given....:)

well I have a bunch of them, but for now I would like to just drive up the coast from san diego to seattle and make a bunch of stops.

In the immediate future i want to go to Los Angeles and take a trip that may only be interesting to me.....I want to go to a bunch of different locations where things were filmed just for the fun of it!

I know this sounds dumb compared to germany and paris or whatever but its something I have always wanted to do and havent had the chance. I am hoping to go next year and do this.

The first few stops are all back to the future filming locations...

again, I know dumb, but I just want to really bad! I am a little worried people will get ticked off If I pull up out front and take pictures also!!!

I've been the Roma and of course visited the Colosseum and you must visit the Pantheon while there too!

I want to visit lots of place. The Pyramids are a must, though my wife is absolutely terrified to go anywhere near the middle east.

I believe we are going to England this year and I will most definitely visit Stonehenge and several other places while there.

I went to Rome last year and it was amazing! St. Peter's was a real highlight, although I am Catholic, so it had special impact for me. I got to go to Mass at St. Peters, and even go on the rare Scavvi tour, where you get to go BENEATH St. Peters where they excavated to find the burial site of St. Peter himself!

I hit all the big spots you mentioned, but one lesser-known spot that turned out to be my favorite was the Basilica of San Clemente.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basilica_di_San_Clemente

It's the one place where the historical "layers" of Rome can all be seen in one place. On the surface is a beautiful but very typical Roman Cathedral, built around 1100, beneath that is a 4th century basilica where you can still walk through the rooms and see many of the mosaics that have been preserved. Then, you can go down one more level and walk through the passages of a 1st century dwelling that both layers are built upon, which contains a pagan Mithraeum.

It's really incredible. But, in general, I can recommend Rome highly enough!

This looks like what I would like to do (so that means it's not dumb)

I have no interest in leaving the U.S.

I like visiting sites where my favorite movies were filmed. (have been to a couple in Arizona).

Seattle would be high on my list (not for movie sites, but just because I've always wanted to go there).

Arlington National Cemetery would also be on my list.

If you go, you MUST climb to the cupola of St Peter's Basilica. (be prepared though, LOTS of steps AND the hall with the stairs is VERY SMALL. If you start going up, don't even think you are going back down the way you came. It ain't happening!)

Hmm, I need to put all my pics online somewhere. I have pictures from the top. Very cool looking out over not only Saint Peter's Square, but you can see just about all of Roma proper.

This isn't my pic, but it is what it looks like from the cupola.

One man's trash is certainly another's treasure. I live in Florida. I hate the Keys. Yuck. I feel the same way about people who want to go to Disney World.. Yuck.

As for me?

1. Japan - I love everything about their culture and history. I think they have one of the most unique and interesting cultures in the world. It's one of two places outside of America I might choose to live on day.

2. Australia - Aussies are awesome. I'd love to hit up their beaches, see the Coral Reefs.

3. The Netherlands.. well.. let's be honest here. Amsterdam - For reason inappropriate for this forum ^_^

4. Sweden - I am seriously considering moving there one day, permanently.

5. New Zealand - Might have some of the most beautiful scenery on earth. So many movies are filmed there for this reason (LOTR etc)

Any of the great Tropical beach locations (Jamaica, etc) - I love the beach and the whole atmosphere and beautiful blue see through water.

It is very possible that I won't like it or consider it a treasure once I've been. I have never been in the state of Florida. Of all the places there the most positives I have heard were the Keys. I am always open to suggestions.

I've been there once. The movie Lost in Translation just about depicts it to a tee. Unless you know the language or have somebody that is a friend who can translate for you, you will feel like you are an alien on a different planet and your communication with the rest of that planet is very basic. Sorta neat experience, but after about a week you get really homesick. And I'm about the least homesick person on earth, but you do miss things like being able to read signs and to eat more 'normal' food.

My friend was over there and knew some very basic parts of the language and was familiar with Japan when we went over there. That helped to a degree. If you are really into video games...great place to go as I saw a bunch of video games over there that didn't hit stateside until about 3-5 years later. I have another friend who lives over there now and teaches English and makes a pretty good living. For the most part he likes it.

I'm originally from NY, but my family went to Florida about once a year growing up. I lived in Atlanta for 9 painful years and Myrtle Beach for 4 fun years.

Now I livei n Orlando.

The Florida natives typically don't like Florida and complain all of the time about it. Kinda funny because the Georgia natives or southern transplants (people from different areas of the south who moved to Atlanta), rave about Atlanta like its the greatest place on earth and you won't find a better place than there.

For me, Atlanta is beyond terrible and Florida has been great. My only problem with the Keys is it's a long hike from just about anything. Disney World is great if you have kids, but there's quite a few things to do and generally I find Florida's weather to be excellent.

Uh okay. Their hotels cost $285 per night (+$10 a night for internet) for cramped cheap rooms. Parking was $12 every time you came and went.

Thankfully I stayed at a place 2 miles down the road that had rooms that were much nicer (except the TV) and twice the size for $38 a night...and free parking and internet.

Disney does a lot of stuff wrong, all the time.

I was fortunate enough to go to Masada when I was in the Marines and stationed in Nevatim AFB for about 3 weeks. Absolutely amazing place to visit with a great story behind it. Everybody had to kill another until the last man was standing and committed suicide. The water cisterns were absolutely incredible. Crazy stuff, and I highly recommend visiting it if you ever get a chance.
