Reading on another board (Ranch)...that the ticket indicated that the boys have heavy interest in both Blaylock and Rivera...may visit soon.

I did not hear most of the ticket comments...can someone confirm?

Blaylock would be great behind JJ!

Hey, I would love to see Blaylock on the team.
I read earlier, however, that he wanted to play for Tampa Bay.

Interesting.

I am all for Marco Rivera. He can provide veteran leadership that is really lacking in the O-line unit.

I have only caught glimpses of Blaylock, but his "expert write up is pretty interesting...........

Blaylock is an explosive player with excellent speed and he is a downhill runner with the ability to hit the crease and take it the distance. He has the speed to bounce the play outside, turn the corner and get up the sideline. He has good quickness and his vision through the hole has improved with more experience. Has surprising power for his size and will fight to get the tough yards. He has excellent hands and is effective on screens and dump offs underneath where he can turn and get up field quickly. However, considering his size and speed, Blaylock is not very elusive and he does not have great lateral quickness. He is not a huge threat in space and he does not have very much wiggle in the open field. He does not seem to have great awareness as a runner and is not going to improvise and make things happen when nothing is there. Overall, Blaylock gained valuable experience in 04 and is extremely effective as a change of pace type back.

He's a very good pure runner like JJ...having him as a backup to JJ would be huge...could kkep JJ fresh without losing that homerun threat!

I'm assuming if they say they heard it on the ticket it has to be BS because I have been listning for the last 2 hours and they have not said anything worth a damn the whole time.

This is the part that stood out. Underneath screens and RB dump-offs are a staple on a Bill Parcells team.

Interesting.

I am all for Marco Rivera.

Marco also has the same agent as Coach Parcells, Ferguson etc.

With the emphasis that Parcells places on the players on his teams having a certain mentality, this is also another big plus in Blaylock's favor. Vermeil raved about Blaylock's team-first attitude last year and how he does everything he's asked to do with incredible fervor and enthusiasm. I remember Parcells echoing those exact same sentiments about Dantzler when he was lamenting having to release him after camp in 2003.

Cool. he can take Andre Gurode under his wing. Gurode needs some veteran leadership to show him the ropes and tricks of the trade.

I think it is pretty safe to assume that Andre is no longer a young player who needs guidance from a vet. Either you have it or you don't and it appears he doesn't.

So if Rivera signs, does that mean that Andre is out of a job?

Doesn't really make me shred any tears, but it also has to be noted that Gurode would be a hell of a backup to Rivera or Allen in the event of injury.

I want Ferguson, Henry, Rivera and Burress by this time tomorrow.

Then I'll wipe off.

Blaylock would be nice, but TB or someone might want him as a starter, or to at least compete, and can offer him a better contract.

As for Rivera - great. I would prefer Wahle, but I will take any of the guys off the GB line - that line is beastly.

I would LOVE to have Blaylock here... of course, I am biased as he went to my college alma matre and is from the small little town I live in...

On a side note... Blaylock graduated college with a 3.9 and plans to become a doctor after he finishes his NFL career... this is no dumb jock...

oh... and most important... he was raised to revere the star...
