View Full Version : R2A Mock 1 (rounds 1-4, 5-7 coming later)

Here we go, I love the draft but I haven't emerged myself as much as I did last year (I had a top 100, not really accurate but I knew a ton of prospects).
rounds 5-7 are useless atm, the prospects stocks are changing too rapidly.

9th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select DT/DE Cameron Jordan;
He's rising, and it scares me because I don't like prospects that blow up but the Senior bowl has been his show and if he plays like that in the NFL he'll be dominant. He has to be the favorite to go to us right now.
41st overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Stefen Wisniewski Center/Guard;
If he lasts this long, it should be a no brainer.
73rd overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Demarcus Love OT/Guard;
Two interior linemen in a row might not be likely, but Love has the physical tools to play Tackle, this gives us two SWINGlinemen, which is important for the versatility of our line. I'd love to get both Love and Wisniewski.
105th overall pick:
Dallas Cowboys select Will Hill Free Safety;
Need to get a safety somewhere, hopefully Will Hill falls here.
Late round/undrafted targets:
Roy Helu Jr - Nebraska Running back.
Owen Marecic - Stanford fullback

I like all of your picks Romo2Austin; all except for Will Hill safety, other than that, very good draft to me.

LOL< no buddy, I just said, like the former great scout and vice president now for chiefs, we only want players that are mature, smart, plays with passion for the game
i even posted about will hill stuff he did, and said we dont want him
dont think the cowboys will either, when they got rid of
T O, Pacman, Tank Johnson etc... they got rid of that kind of player with wrong attitude, or got into trouble with law
the patriots and chiefs, dont draft those kind of players, cowboys are headed that way now too i think

This Cam Jordan at 9 thing has swept the forum like wildfire. The dude is not worth 9 overall unless we are switching to the 4-3, goodness gracious.

I'm not, for now I am as I just got out of the hospital after a 3 week battle nearly losing my colon. No school til march or leaving house for that matter as the medicine has supressed my immune system, I'm happy to be alive and the zone is entertainiNg

Glad you are getting better, I like your choices, just hope you are right and we get three good players out of this years draft. The other Cameron will be moving up the draft tree but I do like the kid from Cali.

Deunta Williams over Hill everyday of the month
Problem is that would take a 2nd round pick most likely, sacrificing beasting up the o-line in this class which is rich in talent for the o-line in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, while Safety runs deeper until the 4th without a huge dropoff(mainly since there is no elite talents).
If we can get Logan Mankins in free agency, I wouldn't be against going for Williams or Kenny Tate in the 2nd.

Dang, what happened man? If you don't mind me asking, you can PM me if you want.
Hate the Will Hill pick because it only hampers Akwasi Owusu-Ansah's development

I like these draft picks although I have a sneaking suspicion that Robert Quinn or Von Miller drops to us at pick #9. I strongly believe the Bills will jump on Cam Newton (will be a monster in 3yrs) and then Jake Locker and Ryan Mallet will go to other teams needing a good QB in the first 10 picks.
This is definitely the DRAFT that Dallas can address our aging OL. There are definitely some good OT, OG, and Center college players coming out this year. With our losing record and opportunity to finally pick in the top 10 in all 7 RDs, we should come away with some young stud lineman (RT/OG/Center) in the first 2-3 Rds. Additionally, with some Draft studs being injured and unable to perform at the East-West, Senior, or Combine, we may get lucky and draft an additional 1st or 2nd prospect in the 3rd or 4th round. In any event, we can NOT mess around this year. New England has multiple 1st rd picks and will scoop up a pass rushing DE and one or two OL (OT, RT, or OG) prospects for sure.
If Quinn or Miller or Peterson don't drop to us at Pick#9, we should even consider sliding down a few spots if we can get another 3rd RD pick for this year. If this happens, Jerrah can draft a top-tier OT, OG, and probably a stud Center for the O-Line that will infuse us will young studs for years to come. Addressing our OL (this year) is the ONLY way the Cowboys will EVER make it to the playoffs with any chance of beating Green Bay or the other NFC division winners (and allow Romo to make it without being seriously injured during the season or in the first playoff game).
I strongly believe that Rob Ryan is probably feeling good after viewing tape of all of our young defensive line BEEF that we've accumulated over the past few years (but have been unable to fit into a workable 3-4 scheme that dominates opposing offensives). Yes, we need an experienced Free Safety, an additional Inside Linebacker (since Sean Lee is oft injured and our other two ILB's are getting old and lack explosiveness), and a fourth stud CB. With a few savvy moves in the later rounds of the draft or via free agency, Rob Ryan can address our defensive areas of concern (mammoth NT, passing rushing DE, Free Safety, and 4th CB).

Will post a new one after the senior bowl. I really love the idea of getting Jake Locker in the second, but thats just a fantasy with 0.01% chance of happening.

I would LOVE those first 4 rounds. Danny Watkins is going to be a serious player at guard.
