Normally the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine games are the crowning touches on the college all-star game schedules, however, two more all-star games are scheduled for this week. The NFLPA Game featuring teams Texas and the rest of the nation will be played in San Antonio. And the PA game has a nice array of second and third tier-type prospects for the 2011 draft including QBs Nathan Enderle of Idaho, Taylor Potts of Texas Tech, T.J. Yates of North Carolina, and Fresno State’s Ryan Coburn. Other solid prospects include Ole Miss DT Jerrel Powe, TCU DE Wayne Daniels, Hampton DT Kendrick Ellis, OTs Trevis Turner of Abilene Christian, Derek Newton of Arkansas State, Jarriel King of South Carolina, Carl Johnson of Florida and Curt Porter of Jacksonville State, TEs Robert Housler of Florida Atlantic and Stephen Skelton of Fordham, and Marshall ILB Mario Harvey.
No player may be under more scrutiny in San Antonio, though, than Iowa WR Derrell Johnson-Koulianos, the Hawkeyes’ leading career receiver who spent the last month in court fighting an assortment of drug charges. In the end, though, Johnson-Koulianos was found guilty of only marijuana possession, while other more serious charges were dismissed. Johnson-Koulianos received a year’s probation and fined $315. Here are the full NFLPA Game rosters. Meanwhile, the inaugural Dixie Gridiron Classic also gets underway later today in St. George, Utah. Unfortunately, this game lacks the talent of even the Players Association game, but does have several players worth a look including former Auburn QB/WR Kodi Burns, WRs Carl Moore of Florida and Dominique Johnson of Cal-Poly and UTEP DE Robert Soleyjacks. Here’s the Dixie Classic roster.
