Ferguson & Henry are there and Riviera is on the way. Negotiating with all 3 as we speak.
Feguson has said this is where he wants to be, trying to make the #'s work. Ferguson was asking more than the Cowboys wanted to give, and there working on it. Press Conference could be called as late as 8PM tonight.

- Sounds like it's still very much up in the air with Ferguson. They're optimistic but not a slam dunk everyone thought it may be.
- Henry is all done.
- Rivera on way. Should get him signed.

Henry, Ferguson and Rivera is a successful FA period. Maybe one more big name, but after those, I expect us to slow down and reassess.

I was hoping for McKenzie..., but I guess Riveria is a good stop gap OT. Only needs after these signings before the draft would be FS and LB, at the least.

Still need a RT, no question about it and we need to move fast to get a top tier one. With Bledsoe back there we cant afford a journeymen type at tackle.

Rivera is a OG, not OT.
I have seen this a couple of times, dunno why he is getting confused...

If we do get one more big name, are we relying on the draft for LB, RT, DE, FS, and WR?

Add Hartwell or another good LB or Safety and I say that would be a great job! Then add a WR, DE, OLB in the draft

Of the above, I expect only a big name at either LB, RT or WR. Not all....we can't pull a redskin and sign every big name FA. We can still sign some lower quality players and address a few of these needs, but we may have some of the answers above already.....

I thought it was interesting when Clarence Hill said La'Roi Glover had told him that if we move to the 3-4 he could play the end. I know we all like to speculate on these things, but to hear that the player himself feels he can do it means a lot. I think La'Roi Glover is a special player that could excel at the end if ask to do so. I know he is small for a 3-4 end, but he is small for a DT that is double-teamed constantly also. I would hate to see La'Roi Glover traded.

Interesting notes from another Board:
(Info from Clarence Hill Valley Ranch Report) On ESPN 103.3.........
Media not allowed to roam. Sequestered in media room. Jason Ferguson, Anthony Henry, Marco Rivera all present and negotiating. Fergie is their #1 target and D is where he wants to be. Initially his number was a little high but they are working together. Told by someone inside PC could be as late 8 pm tonight. Not the slam dunk everyone thought it would be due to $ and years. Looked like it would be lay up with him coming last night.
Anthony Henry:
Rose to top of crop with new secondary coach. Believes deal is done. May be trying to make it a package deal in terms of 3 pack PC.
That would be a good start. Would they back off after that? Still have other needs at FS, RB, RT, LB, DE. These are the deals they want to get done then let the rest of FA come to them.
Last year FA went in with high hopes and promises. Are we being led along? 6-10, cap room, urgency makes you more serious in light of BP's contract. This isn't like the Eagles getting TO and Kearse. Good players, not Pro Bowlers

We weren't 1 or 2 probowl calibur players away from a superbowl though. The damned iggles were.
This is a great start. If the contracts are set up right we can probably still add another decent player or two through FA.
If the details being talked about on the Henry contract are right, then that sounds like a really good deal.

I don't know. A pro bowl QB and pro bowl DE might have changed a lot of things for us last year :) .
