Do I need to watch Band of Brothers before watching The Pacific?

Is The Pacific any good?

Thanks

I have not seen The Pacific, but very much want to.

Band of Brothers is a must regardless of whether you need to see it before The Pacific. It is an absolutely fantastic miniseries and a must watch.

They are totally different casts so there is no need to watch Band of Brothers before The Pacific.

In my opinion The Pacific is just as moving as Band of Brothers. Both are must see series.

Band of Brothers is the greatest thing ever put on tv.

B&B was great and was about the experience of the unit as a whole.

Pacific was good but was about how each person experienced the war.

So no you don't have to watch one to understand the other.

I couldn't get into Pacific.

Band of Brothers is one of the best series I've ever seen. It's awesome.

They are unrelated, though, so there's no need to see one before the other.

But if you haven't seen BB, then you should watch it first, just on principle.

Watch both!

No, you don't need to watch one before the other.

Both were very good, but I think Band of Brothers was the better of the two by far. It was epic!

I agree with the others who said Band of Brothers is a must. The Pacific is ok, but nowhere near the level of BoB.

Thanks for the comments.

I have The Pacific already. I probably should have gotten Band of Brothers first.

Maybe not. You may like Pacific more if you see it before BoB--which spoiled some of us.

Quoted for truth. BoB is one of the best war/documentary/entertainment TV productions.

Second favorite would be Ken Burn's Civil War followed by Generation Kill.

Band of Brothers is one of the best things you'll ever watch.

The Pacific? I gave up after 2 or 3 episodes. I just couldn't get into it. It's not even close to the same level.

The Pacific was badly thought out; but there are great scenes in there and it does give you an ideal of how different the pacific war was. Watch it first; if you watch Band first the Pacific will leave a bad taste in your mouth because you will realize how good it could have been.

In some ways the Pacific was our Eastern front war; both sides absolutely hated the other.

I enjoyed both, the Pacific probably because my father was with the 1st Marine Division and was wounded at Guadacanal. I loved Band of Brothers, as a Vietnam Veteran I have met quite a few 101st veterans from WWII:bow:

I am bias but I think both were good. My Grandad was at D-Day, Anzio, The Bulge and in Germany. When I watch the Band of Brothers, and I do often, it takes me back to memories of my Grandad so naturally I am bias.

I think both are worth watching. Enjoy them both.
