Anybody have any good links or info on Training camp this year? When good dates to visit might be, where to fly into (LAX?), where to stay (Marriott Residence Inn?).

Looking at a possible trip, if anybody has any info, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't know about any links, but here is what I know coming from going to Cowboys camp 18 of the last 21 years.

First, don't fly into LAX unless you just have to. You'll be a lot better off flying into Burbank. I'm not from So. Cal, but I know a bit about the airports and the traffic (my father lives in Simi Valley).

Assuming they do as normal, I would plan on going the first week of August. Generally they start camp on Thursday or Friday (15 days or so prior to the first pre-season game). Camp changed when it went from Thousand Oaks to Austin a few years back. It went from a 9:00 AM start to an earlier start just to beat the heat of Texas. I'm not sure if it will go back to a later start. They generally have two a days about 4 days a week. The other days are either single practice or travel days or special days (like the Cowboy's golf outtings).

Not knowing what you really want out of going to camp. I will say if you are going to interact with the players, camp generally doesn't offer much of that.

I was just hoping to see a practice or two and enjoy some time in Southern California.

That's great. I'm sure I'll go again this year, I just haven't got it all settled just yet.
