Right now, I have 12 defensive linemen — Nick Fairly (Auburn), Da'Quan Bowers (Clemson), Marcell Dareus (Alabama), Robert Quinn (North Carolina), Aldon Smith (Missouri), Adrian Clayborn (Iowa), Ryan Kerrigan (Purdue), Cameron Jordan (California), J.J. Watt (Wisconsin). Corey Liuget (Illinois), Stephen Paea (Oregon State) and Cameron Heyward (Ohio State) with a first-round grade.

Miami (Fla.) defensive end/tackle Allen Bailey, USC defensive tackle Jurrell Casey and Temple defensive tackle/end Muhammad Wilkerson are three players with early second-round grades, but due to team needs, they could go in the first round.

In the past six drafts, there have been 41 defensive linemen picked in first round, an average of seven per year going in the first round. But those numbers will be eclipsed in the 2011 draft, and a lot of that has to do with the talent pool and teams are desperate to try and disrupt passing attacks with heavy pressure from their front four.
