:lmao: @ The Celtics, this was a horrible trade.
Now I'm scared of OKC in the west now though :\

Oklahoma City just got very good with this trade.

Attractive location for Dwight Howard and Blake Griffin when their contracts expire.

I guess I don't see how OKC got better. They got a center who doesn't score and is coming off of a major injury. OKC likes to run and Perkins slow plodding self fits into that? The Celtics got a young energetic player who can score and can give Pierce or Garnett a breather without missing much of a beat. OKC didn't get better with this trade.

What kind of stupid trade is that? I mean I hate Perkins because in his entire career, he has never fouled a soul (in his mind), but both guys seem like decent role players at the very least.

Dumb trade for Boston.

OKC just became a legitimate threat in the West... Stupid trade by the Celtics.

When is Griffin's contract going to expire? He is only in his 2nd season, so I assume he has several years left on his rookie contract.

Yeah, not quite sure what Boston was thinking here, especially with both O'Neals injured. Green is a good player but bigs are a necessity.

Bigs are not a necessity. If that were the case every good team would have a good/great big. The NBA is not that kind of game anymore and hasn't been for a quite a while. I am not a Celtic fan but you people are overrating Perkins big time.

Because OKC was very weak on the interior, both rebounding and defensively. They needed to get a lot tougher in the middle. They're planning for the playoff when it's mainly half court basketball.

Green is very talented and a good kid, but so far, he just doesn't add all that much. Maybe he still will, because he is talented and a good guy.

It's a smart long-term move for the Celtics, but considering they are a leading contender for a title this year, I probably would have been more interested in the short term. They aren't exactly a team thinking about building for the future and stocking draft picks right now.

This making OKC the second best team in the West behind the Lakers.

Umm the Lakers are the leading contender not the Celtics.

 um ok. The Celtics have the better record right now. The Lakers aren't even the leading contender in their own conference.

Oh yes because best record = best team. (sarcasm)

The Lakers are clearly the best team in the West, even Popovich admitted that.

No it doesn't but that was my point. My point was you state that the Lakers are clearly the leading contender, and there is no way you can clearly state this when RIGHT NOW they aren't even the best team in their own conference and have struggled against the top teams in the league. There is no clearly about it, they aren't THE leading contender

This is all about matching up against LA and San Antonio. Couldn't do it without a big banger down low. They've got plenty of guys who can score even without Green and they weren't going to re-sign him anyway.

As a Celtics fan, I absolutely love this trade. The Celtics wasn't going to be able to re-sign Perkins because they were too far apart on a new contract. We were able to get Krstic, Jeff Green, and a 1st round pick for Perkins and Nate Robinson.

I love Perkins and hated to lose him. But I think this deal will help us this year and in the future. I am real high on Jeff Green. :D

You should love this trade as a Celtics fan. Perkins nor Robinson haven't played a game yet as an OKC Thunder. The Celtics knew what they doing and will benefit from it. Perkins really didn't bring that much to the table to warrant the overreaction this trade got. He is limited offensively and isn't enough for people to get excited to think this is going to elevate OKC to elite level status.

Still think this? The Celtics just lost to the Clippers. The CLIPPERS. Meanwhile the Lakers are on fire right now and just raped the Spurs are on their home turf. Lakers are still the best till someone takes them down.

You mean like the Spurs raped them back in December? Well, at least the Lake men didn't get swept in the regular season. 1-2 is mighty impressive.

Lemme check...Yep...Lakers are still the third seed in the West. 3rd.

You know, behind two other teams with better records?

Why wouldn't I still think this. Did the Celtics season end last night? Big deal the Celtics lost to Clippers. It happens. The Celtics had won 8 of 9 before last night. The Lakers lost to the Cavs and some other garbage team before the All Star break. So what. The Celtics also were average from about January on last year and were winning in Game 7 of the Finals with 5 minutes left. You point out one regular season game like that is some indicator. It's not. You really are trying but you are failing.

I'll say it again best record does NOT = best team. Just look at the Cavs in 09 and 10 they had the best record but were they the best? Hell no. Also the Spurs did not rape the Lakers in December. The final score was not indicative of how close the game was.
