A Randall Williams clone? Great.

A Randall Williams clone? Great.

This kid makes a lot of plays, is highly thought of in league inner circles. And he actually has more than 1 CAREER catch as a 5th WR.

You would have dissed a Safety named Izzo from Miami 4 years ago......
upgrade 53 man rosters......

Was gunna say, this guy caught a pass in his first year. Not waiting 4 years for his first catch. 7 total catches in 4 years. How long would it take Randall Williamns to get 7 total catches. 15 years?

I was actually hoping we would have drafted him when he was coming out, thought he would have some good upside for where he would be drafted.

Has not done much in the WR but has done ok in ST.

I think he would just be another Randall Williams though if we wanted a change of players.

I think Copper and Crayton have more upside.

I would think we have bigger needs than picking up a special teams WR.

Needs yes.

But we will still pick up the lower tier guys for depth and roster spots...names many will say who is this guy or ....but in the end they will just be roster, ST and depth guys.

This guy is in that mold IMO.

I guess the poison has to be chosen.

Draft or free agency?

I just don't think free agency should be used that way. You are going to overpay in free agency. That is just a given. No reason to try to entertain a WR who plays special teams exclusively.

I would hope that letting Randell Williams rip us off for three seasons was enough. At least Copper and Crayton have caught footballs.

I looked up Banister and he has caught of total of 9 passes in four seasons.

Why would we want to pay a free agent contract to someone who can only do one thing? I know that Larry Izzo guy got a contract that way, but it is not like we don't have good special teams aces like Davis and Copper.

I can understand drafting a player for the role....as the vet minimum would be much cheaper.

But like I said this guy is Randall Williams but maybe if you wanted a change in players.

Nothing that I am excited about at all to be honest.

However even 9 balls caught is better then resigning Randall Williams IMO.

But like you said, the draft is better for something like this.

This is my argument.

Nors bashes my football knowledge and wonders why people get on his case from time to time. Maybe its snide arrogant comments like that about a freaking special teams wideout.

No need to bring in a STer and pay him more than some guy you could get late in the draft. Bannister is a fine special teams player, but, in reality, so is Randall Williams. He won't contribute much to the passing games with his whopping 9 career catches. Hence, my comparison to Randall Williams who contributes just slightly less.

How about if the team sticks with a pretty good ST WR that is already on the team with upside by the name of Terrance Copper? Or takes a flyer with one of the late round compensatory picks?

And I wouldn't pay big money to Larry Izzo. I would spend my money on skill players and find a player out of the three or four guys I could get for Izzo or Bannister money.

Instead of a 1 linet put down attempt, articulate why I'm loco. Thats fine. I think Bannister is a clear upgrade over Williams. ST

Exactly. Plus didn't we bring Danzler back to be a return guy. I say give him a real chance to be the man back there. He has mad hops and moves. Plus way cheaper then a FA.

I thought my one line statement was enough. I don't see a clear upgrade over Randall Williams. So, I called him a Randall Williams clone. I don't think Randall Williams brings much to the table. Insert my sarcastic "Great". Where do I put you down personally anywhere in that?

You are far too sensitive and expect more out of others than you expect from yourself. If you come out advocating the signing of a #5 WR, then you have to expect to get some criticism. A large majority of your posts are cryptic one liners as well.

I am all for a good football discussion, so I will do my best to better articulate when I disagree with you.

Isn't at least a little bit ironic that Nors is asking someone to articulate?
