View Full Version : OK. Heading into the draft we now have 6 weak postions?

I am leaving K out of the mix. I see the priorities now (after FA signining) as WR, DE, OT, LB, FS and RB.

I think a decent RB can be found in the later rounds.
This means we can go into the draft with 2 1st round picks to be used on any of 5 positions.

PLEASE PICK THE BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE at any of those postions. I hope to keep the picks and just make a solid decision when the time comes.

I think we are now heading into the draft with 16 STRONG positions, but I'm just a the glass-is-half-full kinda guy.

I am very excited about the upcoming season. Just think with another FA signing and a good draft, we might be changing close to one-third of the starting players from last year!

Dallas admitted to 8 holes and we have filled 4. SO by the front office take we have 4 left. MY guess is we see 2 more signings and then look at the draft.

Jerry basically ruled out a free agent RT at the Rivera pc while making it clear we will get a safety in here. They want to play RW closer to the line of scrimmage.

JJ is a lot more in controla nd you can tell because he is again letting it rip instead of abiding by BP's close mouthed policy.

My guess is the 4 holes are RT, RE/OLB, FS, backup RB.

I dont think they were calling WR a weak position because with KJ and Glenn they have a decent 1-2 punch. Morgan is not a bad 3rd WR, he is just overmatched as higher than that. I would love to see a WR drafted. The WR depth is very nice and BP has admitted his starter's age is up there.

Assumng JJ does get his FS in free agency and then snags a safety because they are not real expensive we could very well be looking ta a draft as has been mocked to us in various places of:
1a Merriman
1b Jammal Brown
2 Troy Williamson/Roddy White/Mark Clayton

Um, I see RE AND OLB as serious holes...

I wouldn't say WR or RB are weak areas. If we drafted a DE, LB, FS and CB with our first picks, I would be very pleased.

Could we use a big-time WR? Of course we could, but I just don't see us having to do that. We have a pretty good corps right now, IMO.

As for the RB, I think we'll grab one in the later rounds, but maybe ReShard Lee can come in and still be a decent backup still. Who knows?

Some of those 6 will have to be filled from within.
