Ellis: No Reason To Get Worked Up About Lockout Yet

IRVING, Texas - Normally last week would've been a bad time to take a vacation, if there is such a thing, because the middle of March is typically a relatively busy time in the NFL offseason.

This year, though, I had even less reason to compulsively check the e-mail and scan Twitter for tidbits of news while sitting on the beach. As far as our favorite sport is concerned, there is no news to speak of right now, which is different, but not the end of the world, just yet.

There seems to be a lot of worry out there - by fans and the players who have already begun apologizing to them - about something that hasn't even come to pass. Yes, due to the lack of a Collective Bargaining Agreement and the uncertainty of pending litigation, the 2011 season is in some degree of jeopardy, even if both sides are attempting to reassure us it will work out (or trying to make the other appear responsible)...

Ellis gets to take a vacation and wrote an article about not worrying while he's on the beach. He just won the lottery. Usually, the time leading up to the draft is exciting, but I can't get excited about it this year. This season will be affected by this, and if it goes on much longer it will be a wasted season because it will disrupt FA and off season work. I wish I could join the debate about who's right so that I actually had some interest in what is going on, but I don't feel like either side deserves my time right now.
