Claiborne to St. Louis and Blaylock to New York Jets per ESPN's bottom line.

Would have loved Blaylock, but makes sense for him to go behind Martin...later in career.

Claiborne only signed for a $3 million SB. IF the Cowboys are looking at the LB position in UFA (I don't assume they are) , maybe Hartwell will come equally inexpensively.

lol are you comparing Chris Claiborne to Edgerton Hartwell? Claiborne has disappointed every year he's been in the league. There's a reason he isn't getting paid a lot.

Don't make the mistake of believing the Rams have a wise personnel department. They do one of the worst jobs in the league of scouting.

How do you feel about the Ravens personnel department? Because the Ravens have plenty of cap space to resign Hartwell if they felt like they needed to, evidently they didn't even put much effort into bringing him back.

I know on this board everyone thinks Hartwell is something really special. I just don't think the NFL does. While other players are being wined, dined and signed within the first 24 hours of free agency, Hartwell is having to publically plea to the Patriots to give him a look.

I think he's a better player than Claiborne, and I don't think the Ravens would disagree. I think they're letting him set the market value for himself for one thing, which is sometimes a good decision (probably is this year considering the linebacker glut). He won't get paid like a premier player, but he'll get more than Claiborne. Just don't assume that you can get Hartwell for the same price as Claiborne.

I didn't equate them, I agree Hartwell is better, but if Claiborne set the market at MLB at $3m in SB, that's a good thing. Claiborne is a middle of the road MLB, much like Jonas Jennings is a middle of the road tackle (who got a $12m SB)
