My five are:
1. Chad H.
2. Zuriel Smith
3. Javiar Collins
4. Lynn Scott
5. Keith O'Neil
What do you think? I was going to put Whalen down, but I like him and am hoping his special teams expertise will save his job. It seems like someone with hands that good should be able to find a place to contribute.

Put whalen in place for Lynn Scott and I think you may be right with your list.
I know whalen is a special teams wizard...but there are only so many slots for the TE and part time FBs on this roster IMO.
As many people who still wonder how Scott stays on this team, and most of it is a running joke here....he must be doing something right to stay on the team especially since Parcells came on and he is still here.
Now we will have to see how K.Davis impacts the team as far as who he may take a spot away from, if he does.

Eric Bickerstaff

I think that when we picked TE Ryan, that sealed Whalen's fate.

You think Lehr will be kicked out? Did DiNapolli sign yet? One of those centers has to go I guess but they can both play guard too.

Chad Hutchinson - not helping himself with his NFLE performance. T'was his chance to solidify a place on this roster or as a tradable asset to the club. So far, he's failed to do either.
Lynn Scott - it's even time to upgrade the depth. Shouldn't be too difficult here.
Tyson Walter - entering year number three and not even close to challenging as a starter. Should be surpassed by at least one (if not more) rookie.
James Whalen - the arrival of Sean Ryan could spell doom for Whalen, who is the least physical TE of the bunch. He been nothing more than a special teams performer for the club and for someone entering his fifth year, that's not a good thing.
Zuriel Smith - tiny WR who does nothing but returns kicks. Now, if you're going to take on that role, you better be damned good. Unless this kid wows the hell out of people in July and August, he won't be around. He was, for the most part, dreadful last season and really needs a strong camp and preseason to even have a shot. I, for one, don't see it happening.

Dixon and Scott in favor of Crowder and Davis.
Zuriel Smith and Randall Williams in favor of Newson, Middleton, and/or Crayton.
Whalen in favor of Ryan.
If Hutch is injured he can't be let go. Union rules.

Parcells can't cut Chads *** because a union stepped in!
My high school QB made the strike Giants in 1987 and played in a Monday Night game,
Dislocated his shoulder and received a very hefty injury settlement! Almost a full years salary I believe.

It's the same with guys like Kurt Warner, TimCouch and Larry Allen not being allowed to work out with a team. If they get injured working out with the team, that is considered a football injury and they cannot be cut.
Quite the opposite if they get hurt on their own. For example Keith Davis who got shot. No penalty for waiving a player who hurts himself in outsie pursuits, but any pursuit that is football related, and NFLE is football related and the player cannot be waived.

1. Bickerstaff
2. Cason
3. Z. Smith
4. Collins
5. Scott
Whalen, Walters, and Ra. Williams are also really on the bubble.

1. Bickerstaff
2. Lynn Scott-- I think he falls behind Keith Davis.
3. Javier Collins-- Fell behind Vollers and Tucker
4. James Whalen-- Too far down the TE list
5. Chad-- 3rd fave among young Qbs on team that should only keep 2.

You can cut players you just have to pay them. Because contracts arent guaranteed. High priced guys are asked not to work out because an injury essentially guarantees that contract until the player is recovered. Ther eis usually a settlement but if a guy like LA has like 20 mil coming to him he isnt likely to take simply 1 years salary.
