Heck of a round so far by McIlroy...

Wow, I can't believe how poorly Mickelson drove the ball yesterday. He missed about every fairway and he still shot an even Par. I'd hate to see what he could do if he could get his swing right off the Tee.

I had the worst stomach bug of my life last night....I was hoping to make myself feel better by watching Masters coverage all morning.

Alas....coverage sucks! Watching golf on friday is no bueno.

We have an hour before the real good coverage happens. I can't wait. Even if you don't like watching golf, the Masters is special. People who don't watch are cheating themselves out of some great stuff.

IMO.

Quiros and McIlroy...some mega-bombers there. I swear, Jhonattan Vegas may be the most inaccurate driver of the ball I've ever seen on Tour, it seems like every time I watch him he's not even close to hitting the fairway.

If I was DLIII, I'd give Ricky Barnes serious Ryder Cup consideration..the guy just plays huge in Majors. It would be a questionable pick, but the guy does seem to rise to the occasion.

It's top 3 for me for sure, but I love the island at Sawgrass the most.

I love #16 because the green is very big, so there's different irons going into the hole depending where the pin is. The back pin left, where they usually have it on Sunday, is a makeable hole-in-one shot and I would love to see somebody do that in the final round to go on to win the Masters. Problem is that you have longer club, so that decreases the margin for error a bit. The front right pin probably has 2-3 clubs less into it, but it's tucked behind the bunker and if you just miss a little left or short, you'll probably spin back and be 30 feet away.

#17 at Sawgrass was a brilliant concept that got played out over time. It's only about a 9-iron or a PW depending where the flag is. If they put the pin out to the right, you're not going to make hole-in-one and you're probably not going to hit one close because you'll have to play safe.

Anyway...this is sure turning into a fun Masters.

I want the golf world to explode. So I want Tiger to make a huge charge to the top this weekend and get his swerve back.

It sure would be nice if the Masters would finally enter... oh, say the 1970's and actually, like, you know, broadcast the darn thing. They try to make like they're so high and mighty but imagine if the Super Bowl was played and we only saw the final 5 minutes of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters plus only the final 10 minutes of the 4th.

Oh, and we get to stream any play snapped between the 20 and 30 yard lines online if we want. Whoop-de-stinkin-doo.

Tiger got hot today down the stretch. But he's had good 2nd rounds before in this slump of his.

It will be interesting to see if he can build upon this with another solid round.

That 8 iron on 18 was a helluva shot around the tree.... finishes the round with a nice birdie.

Here's to a Greg Norman-style crash and burn for Tiger today. Gawd, what a jerk.

Unfortunately, he's swinging very well... The best I've seen in a long time. I'm sure he'll start making some putts soon.

Rory looked really impressive. I think he pulls it off.It would not shock me at all. Did you hear the advice Jack Nicklaus gave him before the tourney? He said that he just played steady and stayed in contention and Majors came to him instead of him going out and taking them.

used to be they only showed the back nine on the weekend, you didn't even know what the front nine looked like unless you went thereI can understand that back in the "old days" when there were only 3 networks, you couldn't have one of them broadcasting 40 hours of Masters' coverage. But geez it's the 21st Century. There are about 1,000 channels out there. ESPN has something like 6 by themselves. You have TNT and TBS. Versus and Fox Sports. And there is actually a station called "The Golf Channel". I bet every single one of them would love to broadcast the tournament from start to finish - or at least do all the coverage early in the day prior to switching over to CBS for the conclusion.

Tv coverage is terrible before the cut....and what little you get is mostly re-aired footage, which is completely obsolete since the introduction of the internet.

I did find, however, that the coverage provided by the Masters.com leaderboard of individual groupings was outstanding.....very cool, and a great supplement to television coverage if you have some golfers you like to follow that aren't getting face time on the boob tube.

I think he'll win it though...as long as the other guys right behind him don't play out of their minds.

Damn. Really wanted to see Tiger win today. Good news is, he hit some pretty good shots. Looks like the swing is coming back around.

But his putter... He made some putts; and missed some that normally, when he needed them, he never missed.

I hope he gets it figured out. I love watching golf. But I love it more when Tiger is on his A game.

Grinding is when people are talking about what is wrong with your game. Not what is right about it. Tiger is not himself yet he still is going to finish in the top 5 of this tournament. He is just that good. He can struggle and contend. No one else can.

Rory fell apart today... but you really got to like the kids McIlroy and Day.

And I'm glad to see Adam Scott in contention. Back when he took 3rd (PGA '06?), I thought he was ready to burst on the scene with victories in majors. It hasn't happened for him.

Just got back from a 15 hour return drive from Kentucky and watched my dvr'd copy of the final round.......WOW, that was great! Congrats Charl Schwartzel. 4 birdies in a row to close it out....are you kidding me? He played out of his mind all day. Felt bad for Rory...he looks like a slob but the kid is very well spoken and has a great game. He'll learn from this and be dangerous. Thought Tiger was going to force a playoff. Outstanding front 9, left a lot of strokes on the back 9. Silverbear is right, his main area of concern is missing makeable putts. I don't think it will be a problem for much longer though. That old swagger was back today. This should be good.

Still only 21. But watching him today was painful. I even felt bad for Cabrera having to play with him. When groups like Day/Scott and Schwartzel/Choi play well and feed off of each other like it seemed like they were, you wonder how much better it could have been had McIlroy/Cabrera been on it. Would have been hard to top today's action though.
