Never have had a "gourmet sub" from Jimmy John's before...never even heard of that franchise before yesterday. They had a full page add in the DMN about $1 subs today in the DFW area...about to spend a whole $1 for one of their subs here in the next half hour or so :D

What is it, dollar subs all day in DFW?

They are better than Subway but not the best I have eaten. A little on the pricey side for a sammich.

dollar subs from 11 AM to 3 PM I believe...and I think for just five of the various subs. But 8" for $1? I'm there :D

I agree with Yeags they are better than Subway but the best I've had so far is Which Wich.
Nothing beats their Thank You sandwich.

Had my first one last week... they are OK...
Mine was awful heavy on the bread but it tasted fine...

LOOONG time ago, up around Akron, Ohio...they was a sub shop called Capt' Nemos that was pretty darn good. Have no clue if they are still around or if they are any good now.

Funny you should mention Which Wich. Never heard of them either, but that's what I'm eating, because the line just to get in the door to Jimmy John's was halfway down the block!

JJ is okay. They're open way late so usually best saved for a night out.
Gargantuan is pretty solid.

Which Wich is great. If there's not a line, you can get creative with your baggie :P
I haven't had JJ since college though, even though there's one here in Nashville. just a little too expensive.

My youngest daughter is a big Star Wars fan. So when we go in, where it has the name box at the bottom she will write something like O. B. Won or Sky Walker. She loves to hear them call out those names when the order is ready.

We don't have these places in Anchorage. I love Subway though.
6" Tuna on Wheat w/ 1 scoop Avocado and Black Olives and a couple shakes of black pepper.

That's funny...me and my son just had JJ's sammies for lunch today.
Yeah, they are a little pricey but the tuna sammie is real good. Our family eats JJ's about 2 or 3 times a month.

I've never had one. We have a local haunt that I like, Luke's. Best roast beef sandwich I have ever had. They slow cook the beef in spices for like 6 hours. I like mine with hot peppers. Huge sandwich for a good price.

I actually don't know what they charge normally. Still have never been in one of their stores...I imagine it's $5-$7 or so though?

It is 6.50 on the dot for an 8".
You can also get a regular one, on wheat, can't remember how big they are, but big enough for $5.50.
There's a JJ's right by my house so I go there often.

I like Jimmy John's, best fast food sub I've had. WAY better than subway. I hear Jersey Mike's is good too but out of my way. JJ is a couple blocks from work.

We had two of those but they closed. Not sure why because they were always busy.
