Hearing the Dallas Cowboys are in the market for a potential slot receiver and one wideout who has really interested them is small-school standout Cecil Shorts III.

I like Edmond Gates

To me this translates day 1. I love the play at 3:31

I'd love to get Cecil late in the draft, I'm not too thrilled with anyone outside of our Top 3 WR's, and Roy is probably not long for this team.

Yhea, outside of our top 3, we basically have Ogletree who is an enigma and some PS guys and Holley.

We definitely need to develop some depth at that position for the year after.

I'm totally on board with Edmund Gates.

Lets say you have to pull the trigger round 3, do you do it?

Lets also say the first 2 picks were either OL/DB or OL/OL and Huff is a safe bet to sign here

I was thinking getting an OT in Round 1, and a DL and CB in Rounds 2 and 3 (in whatever order). But Gates could be gone by our pick in Round 4 . . . . unless we trade down a bit with our 2nd rounder, get an extra 4th, and then package both of the 4th rounders to trade back up.

much to high to spend a pick on a WR 3 rd

I have us picking OG there

much rather one of these guys

Cecil Shorts III, WR/KR Mount

Ronald Johnson, WR/KR, USC

As much as I like Gates, I have a hard time doing that. Put it like this, I'd be 70/30 for not doing it. It's just too high IMO for where the real need is.

I would be much more pleased if we could nab him in the 4th if possible.

I like Gates in third round if we somehow happen to acquire another third rounder.

But If we go OL in the first and DB in the 2nd... Go for a playmaker in the 3rd..

Go get him!!!

Ronald Johnson is another good receiver. Some of the quickest feet in the draft.

randal cobb is my favorite,
there's also greg little in addition to the above mentioned....
but we DEFINITELY need a slot guy that's quick

I like Gates and Cobb, but unless a prospect falls way out of position from where they have him scouted, I don't see them pulling the trigger. After they run Roy off, which I think will be after this coming season, they'll be looking for a guy. IMO. This also allows me to continue my campaign to draft Ryan Broyles next year. You think the Peterson (Hos) and Tyron (41gy#) get pimped, what'll you get a load of me:wink3: .

Tempting as hell. I guess it depends on whats left. Maybe you trade the 3rd, move to the bottom of the 3rd and pick up an extra 4th. If hes still there at the end of the 3rd it was meant to be.

Really like Broyles. Such great natural open field running.

If we get 2 starting OL this year next year might be a good time to get our Bradie replacement and a Johny Knox type WR.

What round would he have to be taken in?

I'm not keen on taking any sort of WR before the 4th round unless you can get a guy that you wouldn't expect to be there.
