One frame rate to rule them all, Peter Jackson to shoot 'The Hobbit' at 48fps

It's not often I get a chance to write about a fantasy film being so sci-fi bound as we are here at Unthinkable but Peter Jackson's adaptation of 'The Hobbit' has gone and given me a great excuse.

So it's going to look like real life on the screen...which is boring for movies. 24fps makes it look like a movie...aka...not every day moving images.

But how are they going to get every movie theatre set up to project at 48fps?
