Note, I dont know where to put this all but I found it interesting;;
First a note about the NFL releasing its schedule. Yes, there is a sense of normalcy with important games scheduled for opening weekend, a London game scheduled and an impressive slate of night games. The NFL is keeping to its party line that it expects the season to open on time. And so do I.

The better question is whether the season opens with a full training camp and/or a reasonable period to sign and trade players. And as to the London game between the Bears and Bucs, the NFL may have given us a hint of their internal deadline for reaching a new CBA by saying that the game will be played in Tampa, not London, in the event the labor dispute is not resolved by August 1. That may be a key date.

Mediation, for now, is dead.

It's now Judge Susan Nelson time and sources on both the owner and player side expect a ruling from her within the next 48-72 hours.

We are extremely close to turning a corner in this entire lockout mess. Finally. Finally.
Meanwhile, as expected, mediation has led nowhere. While the principals have publicly declared they've poured their hearts and souls into mediation, the truth is, neither side, as CBSSports.com reported days ago, expected mediation to work. It hasn't. Mediation will not resume until May 16 at the earliest. Peace in the Middle East will happen before mediation leads anywhere.

NFL mediation was serious but tough to get concessions with ruling looming. Next round, after decision, should be more telling.

@AlbertBreer reports that mediation is adjorned...until May 16. Lotta stuff will happen in the interim. Up first, Nelson's ruling.

Wednesday was a busy day in the NFL’s labor wars. It ended with mediation being adjourned until May 16. This according to Albert Breer of NFL Network. NFL general counsel Jeff Pash says the break is due, in part, to Judge Arthur Boylan’s schedule. (But many are wondering, if that’s true, then why was Boylan assigned to mediate the talks in the first place.)

While the owners and NFLPA are off on their separate ways, Judge Susan Nelson is expected to rule on the pending motion to lift the lockout.
