...not as a mixer, but as a value pick for martinis.
Svedka (Sweden) - I like it.
Luksusowa (Poland) - not bad.
Sobieski (Poland) - too watery for me.
Tito's Handmade (Austin, TX) - not bad at all.

When I think of vodka I think about Russian women. Not sure why.

I wouldn't care for Svedka as a martini. Mixed it's ok.
I've been on a Kettle One kick lately but usually in Bloody Marys.
I usually just grab Absolut. It just tastes better than the others to me.

I don't really care for Vodka at all.
Although at the liquor store there is a bottle shaped like a human skull.
I might buy that one for a the bottle.

I was blown away by Tito's. Totally did not expect it to be as good as it was. Another good one is Froggy B. Froggy B is without a doubt the best bang for the buck vodka you can buy.

Potato vodkas are naturally smoother than grain for the most part. (Which makes them better for martinis. Mixed drinks being smooth really doesn't do much) For instance, a bottle of Molopola (sp) cost around $10-$12 last time I checked, and it is a lot smoother than Grey Goose at $40+.
One grain vodka that is very smooth is Absolute.
Go to the liquor store and as for a potato vodka and just buy the $9-$14 bottle. You won't be disappointed.
If you want a better martini, buy Tankaray TEN Gin. It makes the best martinis.
