IRVING, Texas - This is the problem with thinking about the NFL Draft for far too much and far too long. There is too much darn time to change your mind, like even three or four times.

I mean, look, this process of trying to figure out what the Cowboys will - and should - do with their first-round pick, a most-valuable ninth overall this coming Thursday, can be an agonizing affair, both for us, and most assuredly for the Cowboys since they know they can't miss when owning the unfortunate and hopefully rare opportunity in this meek-shall-inherit landscape of the NFL of drafting in the top 10.

This process began back after the conference championship games at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., with some of the top college seniors working out the entire week before playing an actual game against each other at the end of the week. By the time we drove past the USS Alabama for the umpteenth time on our way home, I was convinced after watching the available talent that beyond a shadow of a doubt the Cowboys should select a defensive end to fortify their potentially thinning unit....

hmmm....we'll see. JJ Watt is a high motor guy, but if you want pass pressure, you'll have to take Fairley or Cam Jordan, imo.

Nick Fairley?

Wow!

Really glad that Mickey's not handing in the card!
