I honestly could care less about Parcells and all of his so called GENIUS at drafting.
If you recall, he kinda sucked at it while w/ the Cowboys.
I don't get excited about any draft special w/ Parcells in the leadoff.
I'd prefer to hear from real scouts who do it day in and day out. Let those guys who have scouted the past 20 years have some air time.
Would love to see that.

Nope! But I did see him draft Jacob Rodgers and Stephen Peterman when he was here!

Ouch, your right about that guys, but im talking about how you draft overall, and how you build with your scouts for the draft,

Going by Goose's rankings, Reid looks to be a late 2nd/early 3rd guy.

I saw it and was like wow, didn't see that one coming. He also had Carimi down past Sherrod- I think that was the 3rd round. He had two OT's w/1st rd grades: Smith and Constanzo
I have not seen him play but most sites have mid round grades on him.

Big, tough....nasty. Not too athletic. But he competes.

Might be one of those "late risers"
CBS sports has him rated at 122 overall.. Thats 4th round territory.
Last week they had him as a 6th rounder.

I have Reid as a 2nd round OT to on my board. Has great feet, good power and is a good run blocker. He need to get stronger and better technique.
My OT rankings
1. T Smith
2. A. Castanzo
3. G. Carimi
4. D. Sherrod
5. Carpenter
6. Solder
7. Cannon(if healthy)
8. Ried
9. Marcus Gilbert
10. Ben Ijalana(my #2 OG)

I think Reid has one of the meanest streaks out the OT's this year - he just rated to low for us to spend a pick on - hes a RT only

Yes, considering his offensive line history in the draft, I think I'd stay far away from any Parcells promotes.

He actually had Solder at the very top of the board. It just didn't stand out like Smith and Costanza because they were lower in the 1st round but Solder it was right at the very top like he was a top ten pick.

Before everybody runs over Parcells here, lets not forget that he also was behind the acquisition of Colombo when nobody else wanted him and he was Head Coach. He was the guy behind bringing in Kosier as well. I understand that these guys were FAs but I think you have to consider these moves as well.

Then that's why Parcells has him so high. He always wanted big and tough, athleticism didn't matter. If they were athletic, he took it out of them. Like making Bradie play at a weight that took away his mobility, or turning Julius into CompuBack, or thinking Rob Pettiti had something.

No, no. It is trendy to bash Parcells and completely ignore the good things he did here. Took a perennial cellar dwellar back to the playoffs and respectability and built a team that Phillips used to get his first playoff win.
He's gone and a couple of years later, the team is 6-10 again.
I wasn't completely happy with everything he did, but he was a far superior coach to Phillips and the positives he brought to the franchise far outweighed whatever people want to gripe about.

There's a reason why some teams didn't want him to "pick the groceries."

Goose has him ranked 70th on his top 100 list. In other words, a borderline late 2nd/early 3rd guy.
Turns out Parcells knows more than www.internet-draft-nerd-wannabe-scout.com that for some reason people take as gospel.

I think Parcells was a great HC and a great motivator but honestly I don't think he is a great personnel man not bad but not as great as some have tried to make him out to be. He was not buying the groceries in NY with the Giants and Jets nor in NE but he knows how to coach them

I'd like to thank you for your post. I get so annoyed when people cherry-pick a couple of players that didn't make it, and forget that we were 6-10 for years before Parcells. And now, like you mention, we're 6-10 again.
Parcells may have had any number of traits that made people personally dislike him, and wish he was gone. I don't share the view, but I can see that. But he was/is one of the best at building winning teams in NFL history. I'm guessing the disdain Parcells gets on this board is not shared among NFL personnel people.

Parcells is a great coach he has never been a top Personnel guy. He did not buy the Groceries with the Giants or the Jets, he moaned about Terry Glenn with the Pats yet Terry ended up being a very good player for him. He is an outstanding coach. BP has changed the culture on losing teams but personnel man no he is not
