Yesterday I saw a commercial in which Wendy's was claiming they have better fries than McDonalds. :laugh2:
So I ask you.......who has the best french fries??? Wendys, McDonalds or someone else?
I think McDonalds has a slight edge over V&S sub shops in Reading, PA and Thrasher Fries in Ocean City.
1st Place: McDonalds - Still the one. Go ahead, dig in.

2nd Place: V&S - Salty and huge.

Until they changed them I preferred Wendys but now I'd have to go with Red Robin.

Maybe part of it is the atmosphere of sitting and eating them on the boardwalk while I watch the zoo walk by, but I look forward to these every year!

Many years ago there were two burger joints in Dallas called Goffs and I always thought they had the best fries. The Goffs in Addison closed about 20 years ago, I don't know if the one on Lovers Ln. @ the Dallas Toll Way still exists. As far as the Micky D's vs Wendy's comparison goes, I'd say McDonald's if you can eat them within the first four minutes of coming out of the fryer.

you need to get yourself to a scottish coastal town and have fish and chips. far superior to any of the fast food chains french fries, especially if you get a pickled onion on the side and some mushy peas to dip the chips in!

Same. Old Wendy's were light years ahead in my book. This sea salt whatever thingy isn't working out for me at all. I won't get them ever again. Red Robin's fries simply rock. Especially since they are bottomless. I ask for a basket when I order drinks.

Garlic parmesan fries at several establishments here in Nashville (Bosco's, F Scotts) are hands down the BEST.
As far as fast food, I'll go with Checkers. Always good. Haven't gone in years though.

Wendys old fries were my favorite . I do not like the new ones at all.
Wendys in my opinion has went down hill a lot in last year or 2 and I ate there about 3 weeks ago for the last time. only thing that kept me there was I loved the fries

Mine too. General rule of thumb is that the fries will suck if they come in a drinking cup.

I think Snuffer's in Dallas has the best fries. The bacon cheese fries are about the best fries you'll ever put in your face:

The best onion rings I've ever had are at a place up here in Bellevue called Broiler Bay. They are literally the perfect onion rings. So good.

Portion size for fries at Five Guys ... ginormous.
Problem with most chain fries is they are drowning in salt to make sure you buy a big drink. Red Robin are good and bottomless, if you are really hungry, they will bring them to you right when you sit down. Carls Jr/Hardees feels they have to keep changing the style of fries every six months. Sometimes they are good and sometimes not so much. I honestly dont get the love for McDonalds fries, maybe the most over rated fries of all time. Usually after you eat them, you can feel a film of grease on your teeth.

I used to bus at RR and when it was getting to the end of my closing shift I would ask one of the cooks to make me a batch. I then proceeded to go in the storage closet in the back and scoff those babies down.

Burger King... i don't care for McDonald's.
Same for me. BK's are usually nice and crispy where McDonald's are soggy and taste undercooked. I don't like places with fat (steak) fries, and don't care for fries that still have the potato peel on the ends. If I get some from the store to deep fry, it's the pixie cut.
