Now you know why he is off the Cowboys Draft board.

Get him: Dez could take him under his wing and be his roommate/mentor.

Sounds like he is at the top of the Raiders draft board.

Too bad...he's the best corner in this draft.
He could probably hang out w/ Andy Reid's kids.

Clearly a buyer beware player. Guys who end up getting suspended can't do much to help their team. Kid clearly has talent but there has to be a trust factor when you get a player. Personally I don't think he can be trusted

Didn't his son die from overdosing?

Jimmy Smith is certainly the personification of the true boom-or-bust draft candidate. Whoever drafts him will be taking their chances on enjoying his services for what may very well be an extremely short period of time before he implodes. It'll be interesting to see who steps up to take him. There are whisperings that Philly may be inclined to take that plunge. Good luck with that . . . if that's the case, they may need all of it they can get. Their support system had better be prepared to work overtime. ;)

wait a minute
i thought that PP was the best CB in decades (not you)
now we have a better CB not just in the same decade but in the same draft?
just trying to point out why we should absolutely not trade up for PP
if we need a FS, just sign Huff :D

If your of the opinion that Smith is better many others do not think that which is why Peterson is expected to go in the top 5 to 6 in this draft.

I think PP is the best player in the draft, could play CB, could play FS, probably play SS, and will be a top return man. Behind Von Miller I have him as the safest pick in the draft. All that said, I would not trade up for him. At #9 I would love the kid. I do believe Smith is a better cover corner and I pray he's not an Eagle tonight!

my point is that you dont trade up in the top 10 for a player that you dont know is truly elite at his position
how many scouts looked at deion or champ and said, "hey, pick him, he is a great athlete, if he dosent pan out at CB he can be your FS"
my only point is, dont trade up for PP with the other needs on thsi team
if he falls to 9, i can live with it

I forgot where I heard this but someone said a few days ago that Smith was getting so hot that teams were starting to send bad press out there to try to cool him off some. When I saw this, it reminded me of that. Sounds like there are a lot of teams in round one who have a strong interest in him.

Talented enough to take in the second IMO. If you could get him in the third, which you won't, all the better.
