Well, I just got an email from the Pats with the schedule, and we play you folks on October 16 at 4:15pm in Foxboro. So, IMO, you got the best time of the year to play. It usually is one of the better times of the year in New England then. Clear, crisp, bright sunny skies with no humidity. No weather advantage for sure.

Now the big question will be, if we:bang2::bang2: play at all. I am starting to get a bad feeling about these contract negotiations -- somewhere in my gut I think we will not be seeing any training camp, and a delayed season -- if one at all.

Oh sigh. This stinks.

I'm a bit more optimistic about the chances of a season taking place. I think there is way too much money to be lost by both sides for this to prevent a season from taking place. I think the closer we get to the season the urgency by both sides will increase

Obviously Doomsday I would rather have you right, and me wrong.

Sometimes people do dumb things from stubborness. Really dumb things. I just hope this is not one of them. Cannot imagine no football in the fall. It is the only sport I really watch now. Don't watch baseball, basketball, golf (never liked watching golf). So football is it for me.

Right now it is impacting free agency. And that is bad enough. I feel bad for the kids that did not get drafted and are just sitting around waiting. Must be hard.

Training camp would begin in July. That is really only two months away. Again, it would be the players that suffer. How can you evaluate new young talent without a training camp?? So what would a team do, just go with their top picks -- and that would usually turn out to be wrong a lot of the time. I can just say, Brady in the 6th round. Nuff said.

Right now I guess all we can do is just wait, and hope. Certainly hope you are right.

Again, sigh.

Lucky for me there will be football in the fall unless the colleges stop playing. :laugh2:

As far as the rookies under normal circumstances they would only be allowed to attend 1 minicamp held for rookies and would not be back until training camp anyways.

I am not really into college football. I used to be when I was younger when I was a real football addict.

What college team do you follow??? Or should I say, how many - or all???

Actually thinking about it, that is a good idea -- never gave it much thought. I'm just so into pro football, and it would "bite" to not have it. But I guess it beats NO football.

I just think if we played you guys, it would be a really fun game to watch. It would probably be on national TV, and I would get to see the game without going to a sports bar (I live in Florida).

Big Longhorns fan but just love watching college football in general.

As for the NFL season I'm still of the mindset it will happen.

Good talking to you Doomsday. OK, I will try to stay optimistic. And if it is all a bust, I will take your advice and start checking out some college teams. Actually where I live college football is pretty big -- maybe more so than pro.

I am glad you already have a team you really like (and will not go into shock about zero NFL games!!) -- and hopefully you get to go to a few Horns games. Always better to go, rather than watching on TV.

Got to run. Again, good talking to you and thanks for the "uplift" ---

Props for coming in here and not talking trash. It's nice to see some good sportsmanship around here and just talk football. Hope it's a good game.

I would never consider going to a board (of another team) and show disrespect. Just not who I am. And in the scheme of things, with all the problems in the world, football is hardly the place to get worked up about. Well, except maybe NO football. Yikes. But thinking about Doomsday's college football thoughts, maybe this might turn out to be a good thing. Getting into college football again, regardless of how it goes.

I like coming on here on occasion and talking football. And if I really don't like a team -- like the Steelers, I would never go on their board -- because I have nothing good to say! I think there is a quote about that somewhere -- if you have nothing good to say, then don't say anything!!

And I have no reason to knock the Cowboys. They are a great organization with lots of fans -- I used to be one a long time ago. Then started going to Patriot games when I was younger -- got season tickets -- and take it from there!!! And yes, we were bums for so long, but I was always, and will always will be a fan. Through the good and the bad. I am sure as Cowboy fans, you can relate to that.

One last thought. I like to watch good games. Exciting games. And I think this might be one -- if we play at all. Given the choice of playing the Boys or the Lions, I would pick the Boys. Regular season games, win or lose, I don't get too worked up about, just want to see a good game.

The only games that are important are post season. And even then, I can take a loss, without going nuts. The only game that kind of bothered me was our loss to the Giants in the SB. That one hurt. Other than that, there is always next season.

So, let us ALL hope just for a game. And if we get it, I would prefer a close game -- makes it fun -- kind of like last year's SB. That was fun to watch.

Last thought, there is nothing wrong with being a football addict. I have no shame, "Are you ready for some football"?????????
