the NFL made 9 B I L L I O N
if your were to count to one million it would take you around
11.5740741 days.
if you were to count to a billion it would take you using
The average Gregorian year is 365.2425 days of 86,400 seconds each. One year = 31,556,952 seconds.
1,000,000,000 seconds = 31.6887 years = 31 years 8 months 1 week plus a weekend.
they made 9 billion....
greed is a terrible thing...I hope they all choke on it
I haven't done the numbers but just off the top of the head I believe with a billion dollars you could spend a thousand dollars everyday since C h r i s t and still have money left
one more edit...that is counting a number every second without sleep which would be impossible to do

Why drill? With that number of pennies why not just purchase your 'ol spud?
And I dare venture further, that you COULDN'T even stack that multitude successfully as your intent here...

look guys let me put it this way...as you both know I lean slightly to the left in politics while you all lean right but I guarantee that in anything that we three would decide for the country we would do it knowing that we all want what is best for the country... I just don't get that feeling with the owners or the players...I feel it is more about greed.
I also guarantee that if we three sat down we could have it hashed out in an hour or two because I know you both aren't trying to pull the wool over my eyes and any disagreement would be over the ways and means to achieve a common goal.
but these knuckleheads started out trying to cheat each other and gain an advantage...you can never reach an agreement like that...sickening what big business has become.

You should know I'm not knocking you the least. As to common sense, that is where our logics begin.
But to the proposal of all three of us sitting down together, just project to the beer drinking following that exercise....:p: ;)

you had my respect long ago - i'm just kidding around today. maybe i need to quit doing that because that's the 2nd time people thought i was serious. : )

No, keep your own personalities..as character can be learned about another person as well. We were both soldiers and akin to a very deep and serious nature. That is all...

They made 9 million profit? Really?
I know it's all in good fun, but you can have revenue of 9 billion and not make one single cent. But in this case I think everyone involved did VERY well.

I don't think $25 billion in revenue by 2027 in entirely unrealistic. The $9 billion figure is 2010 dollars. Assuming 3% inflation (which is roughly in line with historic rates), that would amount to just under $15 billion in inflation adjusted dollars in 2027. An additional $10 billion in revenues, or a 67% increase over 17 years, is ambitious but not unrealistic. I'd expect the additional revenue to come from TV contracts (this is not, and has not been for quite some time, a league whose revenues are driven by gate receipts). If the NFL can gain increased penetration in the global market (and significant inroads appear to have already been made in this regard in Mexico and, to a lesser extent, the U.K.) it's not crazy to suppose that those TV contracts are out there.

This is the real, bingo. As it is the lead scent on the lead dog in the chase by the players in current litigations.

One thing the owners and the league office need to do is give up on this idea of making American Football popular world wide. Its like trying to make Soccer a TV sport here in the US. Neither one is going to work and any money thrown at it will be tossed down the crapper.

There is a gold mine outside the US. Mexico alone could bring in millions. http://articles.latimes.com/2010/jan/29/sports/la-sp-nfl-mexico29-2010jan29
I also do not agree about soccer in America. It is gaining popularity. I had my 3 year old son join a soccer league this past fall. The sport is safe, cheap and anyone can play.

Soccer is not gaining in popularity in America. There are always tons of pre-K kids who play soccer every year. My son is 5 and has only a couple of more years of soccer left in him then he wants to play football not soccer.

That BS has been said about soccer since the early 80's. Kids lose interest the older they get- by the time they finish High School they could care less about soccer.
Only someone who is ignorant of the world as it is and has been could in any way think that American Football will ever be more than a niche sport in any other continent or frakly anyplace else than Canada.
