This had been a quiet offseason for Osi Umenyiora, for once. That’s about to change.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Umenyiora will file a sworn affidavit next month as part of the the players’ antitrust lawsuit against the NFL.
Hot Dogs, trouble in NY Giants land??????????:)

Not good for the Giants as they have invested heavily in their D line and this will push their team to get him a new deal.
It also opens them up to a lot of others wanting the same treatment. Heck...,. Even Eli might want to re-do his deal seeing he can say the same thing.

I know for a fact that he wants to play with Ware.

Man, that would be awesome to have Uni at RDE in front of ware, but probably cost too much in draft picks and money

I've NEVER been one to say 'git 'er dun, Jerrah".
I'd do this in a heartbeat. We should all chip in and pay his salary.

:cool:You will see defensive backs shifting up to the defensive line in Rob Ryan's scheme in limited situations. As you're stating, it's flexible like that. However, Umenyiora will be a linebacker in Ryan's base 3-4.

I know for a fact that he wants to play with Ware.Ehhhh... not sure how I feel about that. He's had a pretty dramatic dropoff in his play.

“After about an hour of discussing my current contract, as well as the contracts of other defensive ends currently playing in the National Football League, Mr. Reese told me that two years from the start of the 2008 league year, if I was currently playing at a high level, we’d either renegotiate my current contract so that it would be equal to that of the top five defensive ends playing or I would be traded to a team that would do that,” Umenyiora said.
Hey buddy, you haven't exactly been playing like a top 5 DE in the league.
The NFLPA* likely chose Umenyiora as one of the ten plaintiffs in their antitrust case just for this testimony, in order to show the players have suffered “irreparable harm.”
If irreparable harm is being done, it was Umenyiora and his agent that caused it when he signed his contract for all those years. Yo, Ume, the Giants have done nothing wrong, you're just a selfish and greedy idiot loser.
Thank god Ware isn't a POS like him.
Ehhhh... not sure how I feel about that. He's had a pretty dramatic dropoff in his play.
Still top 15 in sacks last year I think, and some insane number of forced fumbles.
Thank god Ware isn't a POS like him.
Well Ware was taken care of in his contract. Umenyiora has made comparitively very little in his career. Promises were made.
I'd be pissed too.

And this from the team that (IIRC) made Eli Manning the highest paid QB in the league once upon a time...

I think he is a good player not great at a reasonable price it could be a good move but I don't think the Cowboys will put the money out to get him when other needs are more important. Meantime before writing off Spencer I would like to see how he fairs in Ryans defense.

Osi couldnt play DE in a 3-4 if he wanted to, he'd get mauled.

Osi is not a 3-4 defensive end (lol) if by some miracle he played in Dallas it would be opposite DWare which would form the most fearsome pass rush in the league.

Bring him to Dallas. I am sure Ryan could find a spot for him.

Ryan likes to mix in alot of 4-3 looks. He's be the perfect player opposite of Ware.

Osi is 30 in November, I don't know if you would want him in coverage and they guy opposite Ware will see a lot of coverage.

Pretty unreasonable dream tho, no matter who wants it. Have the money to pay two top 15 (maybe top 10) pass rushers AND a first round draft pick in Spencer at OLB? Tough. Osi will probably stay a giant or get a big payday somewhere else.
