F.T.W!
Love, love, love Fair to Midland. I saw them a long time ago before they got signed. Awesome band.
I'm stoked about the new album, the two songs I've heard from it so far are amazing.
Ever heard of PanterA?
RIP dime
There is a disturbing lack of the Old 97s in this thread.

Drowning Pool
Hellyeah and Damageplan should be in the conversation even if they are knockoff bands.

yet every album they had seemed to sell less than the one before because they never adapted their sound.
I don't mind them but their sound is pretty similar throughout all of their songs, no variation

Then you haven't heard all of their songs. Most of their blues songs were never released as singles.

I believe Edie Brickel was from Dallas area as well.
For some reason I always thought ZZ Top was from Lubbock. Don't know why.

Lubbock has its own list of luminaries. Of course, they all moved to Austin, but there must be something in the water up there.....

What do y'all think of Texas Hippie Coalition?
Is Robert Earl Keene from DFW? I'm not a big country fan, but he's a great storyteller/songwriter.
