White led the Cowboys to 3 straight NFC Championship Games in his first 3 seasons as the starting QB

Drafted by Dallas in 1974, you spent two years in the World Football League before joining the Cowboys, and then spent four seasons playing behind Roger Staubach. Was it difficult being in his shadow?

Very fond memories of Danny White. Would love to see him have a role in the org.

btw - Cowboys syndicated radio broadcasts? Is that with Brad Sham or is there something else I'm unaware of?

My wish is that they would bring Danny in as QB coach. I think he would be very helpful to Romo and Garrett. I know it is not going to happen, but I would love to see it.

You know Verne Lundquist was the voice of the Cowboys before Brad.

He probably doesn't want to coach. If he did, he'd have no problem getting a job.

He mentions in the article that he would love to have the opportunity to coach in the NFL if the situation was right for him.

Why? They suck and don't have a clue of what they are doing.

Do you know what the difference is between Cheerios and ASU?

Cheerios belong in a bowl.

IIRC, Danny needed to go back to finish his bachelor degree coursework which he's since done. Either way, though arena league experience isn't exactly a shortcut into the NCAA.

What do fans of Cheerios and fans of the Mildcats have in common?
Both have to worry about choking.

At least there's some satisfaction in a bowl with Cheerios in it.

No one is talking about shortcuts. More like stepping stones. He did some time in the Arena League. Why was he not offered some time as an assistant and provided the opportunity to work his way up? And I don't limit that to just ASU, although it seems a very logical choice due to his ties with the school and the state of Arizona. Any school or NFL team could have gone after White years ago.

Maybe my question is better posed this way.

Is Danny White joining Brad Sham to call Cowboy games in 2011? Is Babe out? Or is the story referring to some other broadcasting gig for White.

to Doug Cosbie for 15 yards and a 1st down..

I grew up idolizing them along with my main man, the Manster..

Lord, how I loved the Doomsday defense poster I had in those days..
