Several 2012 draft projections — including one by Sports Illustrated’s Andrew Perloff — list the 6-foot-6, 340-pound Osemele as a possible first-round selection.
“He’ll definitely be a draft choice,” said Gil Brandt, former vice-president of player personnel for the Dallas Cowboys. “I don’t think he’ll be a first (round pick), but I do think he’s got a chance to be picked somewhere in the second round.”
For Osemele, who grew up idolizing former Houston Oliers running back Earl Campbell, competing on the professional level would be the culmination of a childhood dream.
