Patriots guard Logan Mankins made it clear Thursday he’s not looking for anything in return for being an antitrust plaintiff. As Florio mentioned last night, Vincent Jackson remains a bit of a problem.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Jackson continues to demand $10 million or no franchise tag for life, despite Jackson’s public claims to the contrary. While Jackson hasn’t made the demands himself (of course), people “close to him” have made the demands.

Why on earth would he think he's entitled to this? They could have drawn the named plaintiffs out of a hat. There are no special rights or obligations attached here. He's just like any other player.

You can thank AJ Smith, the guy who cost the Chargers the playoffs last year.

You obviously don't remember the Reggie White scenario from the early 90's huh?

for a long time many have praised AJ White as a GM. Yet you look at his record and you have to wonder why. Clearly he is not very good at picking coaches; and his manner as regards treating his players suck. THere is as much talent on that team as any in the NFL yet they have never been a truly serious SB contender. Yes they made it to the AFC Champ game, but you would not call those performances great.

Named plaintiff Vincent Jackson now is willing to release his claim without compensation - meaning no money or lifting of the franchise tag.
