* Liked what I saw from rookie FB Shaun Chapas as a pass catcher, reaching out for one pass, but he needs to keep his feet moving when he engages as a blocker.

OLB Victor Butler (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=12641) struggled in coverage in his first two years, but he had two pass breakups in 7-on-7 drills on passes to TE John Phillips (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=12550) and Chapas. Butler also had a would-be sack
Once again Victor Butler just keeps making plays.

I see that in the kicker battle the rookie went 4 for 4 today. Beuhler went 3 for 4.

Not a big difference, but they kicked 5 each. Bailey made all of his but his 35-yarder banked in, Buehler was 4-5 missing his 35-yarder.

* Defensive linemen have been told to get their hands up in the passing lanes if they can’t get to the quarterback. Jay Ratliff (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=8638) batted down a ball, as did Sean Lissemore (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=13406).
I was wondering when this revelation would occur.
Finally.
Hoping for lifting of the ban on the spin move next!

* Rookie WR Dwayne Harris had a "Welcome to the NFL" moment when a Tony Romo bullet on a slant went through his hands. Later, he was quick to grab a slant from Jon Kitna.
* At one point, all three inside linebackers -- Keith Brooking, Bradie James, Sean Lee -- were on the field at the same time.

Maybe somebody turned his light on. Or maybe he's been saving himself for this year. Anyway, he would be a welcome improvement if he continues.

IF the light finally came on for Butler in everything else besides pass rushing then Spencer better be ready.

I've got high hopes for Butler. I hope he gets a fair shot. He's a playmaker with a great work ethic. More power to him.
