So question for everyone. This whole build up to Asomugha's decision between NY and Dallas has some parallels with Lebron's fiasco.
So if Asomugha goes to the Jets, does he instantly become hated amongst Cowboy Nation?
Or, if he signs, does he become the most beloved?

Right now, for me, it's exactly the opposite. I'm swinging strongly against this signing.

If he sign with jets, well, it was fun while it lasted but I'll have no ill will.
If he comes here, he'll be beloved IF he performs. If not, he'll be loathed because he gave his best years to the raiders and got paid by Dallas.

I will not think kindly of him in week 1 if he is in NY outside of that I don't hate the guy
If he signs with Dallas I can't say I will be jumping for joy but I will support him and this team and hope things work out for the best.

That's so weird, I just submitted a comment on espn chat under nnamdi's name and I said "I'm taking my talents to jersey shore."

Completely different situations. If this were a battle of DeMarcus Ware and the Jets won out, I'd be completely pissed.

Jerry then handing phone to Rob Ryan and back and forth on Jerry's cell phone the last 30 minutes at practice per ESPN. Then Stephen gets on the phone ..
Must be big-time deal going on. Rob trying to convince Nnamdi?

Nnamdi Asomugha not worth price for Cowboys (http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4680976/nnamdi-asomugha-wouldnt-be-worth-price-for-cowboys)

SAN ANTONIO – As long as Nnamdi Asomugha (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4489) can play cornerback, strong safety, free safety and defensive end all at the same time, it makes perfect sense for the Cowboys to sign him.
That, of course, isn’t the case. That’s why the Cowboys shouldn’t invest the kind of dollars it will take to land the biggest fish in the free agency market.
Cowboys fans should hope Stephen Jones, the Valley Ranch voice of reason, makes a strong enough case to convince his star-crossed father/boss to spread the wealth instead of making Asomugha the highest-paid player in franchise history
Stephen Jones said Wednesday that Terence Newman (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4463) and Mike Jenkins (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=11259) would be the Cowboys’ starting cornerbacks this season, essentially eliminating the Cowboys from the Asomugha sweepstakes. Jason Garrett said Friday that the Cowboys “feel great” about their cornerbacks’ corps.

Never believed Dallas would be active in signing him to begin with, so with the amount it would take to sign him, I'd rather a safety, defensive end and a guard over singing Nnamdi.

You do know Newman is going to be 33 by the start of the season, right?

Maybe he'll prove to be worthwhile investment. But I am starting out skeptical, I'll say that.
I'll want to see what his deal truly is, how easily we can get out of it down the road if need be etc. I keep thinking that Stephen, Garrett & Rob are in support of this as well so they must be convinced. I still need convincing.
Also need to see what happens to Newman, our OL, safety etc. But it sure sounds like its happening with all the reports of fistbumps at TC.

Right now, for me, it's exactly the opposite. I'm swinging strongly against this signing. It really won't matter to me whether or not Asomugha signs with the Jets if he does then it will be a "great" move by the Jets according to media.
If he signs with Dallas its going to be a three ring circus for the media and some of the sports analysts and they know who they are will crucify Dallas for signing him but I won't jump off a cliff if they do because as some posters said here if Jerry wants a player he will get him and Nnamdi is no different regardless of the cost.
I recall being a bit bummed as well when we signed Deion.
I get FAR more excited when we have a solid draft than when we sign a Deion or NA. (ready's for draft jokes)

If Asomugha has a press conference in NY and then announces live on ESPN and NFLnetwork that he is signing with the Cowboys then yes there is going to be a lot of po'd Jet fans.
Ironic, if we land NA in the same week that we cut the albatross known as Roy11 loose.
Does anyone know if NA will match up against Revis on week 1 if we sign him?

Nice new term by @richeisen (http://twitter.com/richeisen): "Asomughatch" (pronounced A-some-watch). Said got term from Twitter follower.
If Asomugha goes to Dallas, road games will be potentially taxed, but 5 of 7 days from the week he can say he's in Texas

So now every time a free agent takes his time to get the best deal, he's instantly compared to Lebron James? Well in this day of shortsighted fans buying into every little overblown story's media hype, maybe you're right, at least for the uninformed masses.

Same here. Well, maybe not strongly, but I'm against it. This is a little too much drama for me for a 30+ year old guy. He was in his absolute prime when Ryan coached him years ago, but next year and the next? Plus Newman's contract would add a lot of dead money next year.
But the 103.3 guys are saying this is one of those deals that Jerry has sunk his teeth into and is pretty determined not to lose, spurred on by Ryan.

Desean Jackson must be furious, he can't get a new contract, clearly outplayed his contract and the Eagles go out and give a boat load of money for Nnamdi, Desean holding out and saying, show me the money...maybe the eagles cut him, wishful thinking. he would be tremendous in the slot with a star on his helmet

I dont buy it, we lost.
He only got 1.5 more guaranteed then Joseph got from the Texans and 12 mil is fair. He took a cut to play in Philly.
