Keith Brooking has played in 200 consecutive games. He is an ironman. The Cowboys linebacker will be back before the season opener, but he might have to miss a preseason game or two. It just depends on how quickly his injured hamstring heals.
"It’s good," Brooking said Monday. "It’s day to day right now. It could be anywhere from a week to three weeks. ...Players react differently to strains. Fortunately it wasn’t torn. It’s just a minor strain. It’s something you’ve got to be very careful with. You can’t get back on the field until you’re close. You’re never really 100 percent, but close to 100 percent, because it’s one of those things where you continue to have setbacks. Instead of two or three, it could turn into five or six or seven. I’m going to be very careful with it.
