It seems to me that the eagles are tooling up to take on the Packers for the nfc title with all their new additions. Boom it hit that Philly did the same thing to compete with the greatest show on truf and came up short :lmao2: Sure these guys are a lot better than those bums but we will see the same results!

Go cowboys!;)

They added some talented pieces, but they have a big question mark at qb. Can vick stay healthy for starters, and can he duplicate the season he had last season. Namdi, brown, jenkins etc are nice, but if vick gets hurt, or struggles philly wont win anything.

That is exactly what their plans are. Putting together some of the NFL's best secondaries and pass rushers to put pressure on Rodgers. The only way to slow Rodgers down is to get to him.

I bet Philly will also incorporate a 5 receiver set, just like Green Bay.

They came real close last season and had Akers not missed 2 fg's, the Eagles would have won.

You just know all the moves the Eagles made are gearing up for Green Bay.

Call me a homer, but they gotta get past us first. I like our chances

if it just hit you, you are extremely slow.

That's the way it is supposed to work. Everybody in the conference who didn't make it the Superbowl has to figure out how they will get past that team the next year. The Packers are a very young ultra deep team so I don't blame the Eagles for loading up with the players they think will get them over the hump.

I still remember the in the 90's when the Packers painstakingly put together a roster that we designed to do one thing... defeat the Cowboys in the playoffs.

Gilbert Brown, Reggie White, Santana Dotson, Sean Jones -- that Packer defensive line was huge and talented -- they were made to compete with the dominant Cowboys O-Line.

I still remember Ron Wolf (the Packer GM at the time) saying that is how they were designing the team.

Packers never really did it --- they really never beat that great Dallas team... however they were a great enough on their own to win A Superbowl in 96 and almost win another in 97.

My personal opinion is that anybody who wants to go through the Packers this year needs to do it with a running game. They have 3 defensive backs in the NFL Top 100 Players (4 if you go with Peter King's list which has Sam Shields at 100) -- it's a pretty darn amazing secondary. To beat them, you need to run it and run it well and stay out of 2nd /3rd and long situations...

Many people say this, but it could also be stated that had not James Jones dropped a deep pass (that could have been a touchdown) from Rodgers right before halftime, the Packers would have still won even if Akers had made the field goals. Anyone who remembers that game knows that Jones had Asante Samuel toasted on that play; Jones had two or three steps easily on him.
