I know he has the reputation of being a punk and all but dude can play...Brings attitude and physicality to the defense...He's holding out because of contract issues in the final year of his deal..Let's say a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him..would you do it? I'm all for a look see

I'd do it! Physical guy that brings a tough attitude to the defense! I think he would be perfect in Rob Ryans scheme

Acts like a punk / just walked out of practice / wants more money.

Come on man really?

He's over rated. I'd rather have Asante if Philly puts him out there.

If I walked out on my job demanding more money, my employer would shrug and fire me and replace me with somebody cheaper.

Finnegan seems like a complete punk. He's a famous cheap shot artist that got fined for getting in fights or cheap-shoting people in 3-4 games last year.

Now he's a diva who is trying to hold out for more money? The guy seems like a complete headache to have on your team.

Andre Johnson packs a punch that can still be felt months later.

i would do it to have him punk desean and then send him on a blitz to smash vick. He will be the most physical corner on our team. Rob would love him.

it would be worth a 3rd. or maybe a second depending on the year he has.

or newman for him straight up.

A third, for sure. I don't know about a second rounder.

Seems like the kind that a Ryan would absolutely love.

He also learned and played under a Buddy Ryan disciple (Jeff Fisher).

That's really sad. I can't stand guys like that. All this shows is he is not dedicated to the game of football. Don't want a guy like that here in Dallas.

I can't root for a ****** like finnegan. Would you want Brandon Jacobs on your team?

Wow. I didn't know the profanity filter would catch feminine hygiene products. Good to know...

We already got rid of the TO - Pacman type players. No reason to bring another circus act into town.

Well, seeing how Andre Johnson is twice his size, and he didn't back down from him, I'd take someone with that kind of fight in him.

But if he's holding out for more money, I don't think the Cowboys would be interested.

# 1 hell yeah I would take a look at him. We need corners and DB help. And yes he would be the most physical DB we have. Everyone talking about if I walked out on my job my boss would do this. Haven't we all learned yet, these guys aren't like us, and don't have jobs like us. If we can why not bring him in for a look?

They can trade him to who they want to. Or not trade him to who they don't want to.

lol you people are silly.. Why would we trade for a guy that is begging for a new contract??? We aren't in the position money wise to offer a solid CB that is only 27 and yes he is a solid CB, many of you want to look at the cheap shots and fight with Andre Johnson, but the guy can ball.

I doubt he would fit into Garrett's mold as a team-type guy.

Yep.

And not only that, but we just recently cleaned house of the trouble makers that eventually imploded our team from within. We are finally starting over with a clean slate and a brand new identity to match...Most of our newer players are "Garrett guys", with high-characters and admirable work-ethics. I don't think Finnegan fits into our new dynamic.

A third and second? Unfortunatly I live in the Nashville area now, and forced to watch most Titan games. He can't cover squat, good for at least three flags a game, and is generally reguarded as a one of the dirtest players in the NFL.
I wouldn't take him if they gave him to me and paid his contract.

Finnegan, 27, is scheduled to make $3.7 million this season, the final year of a four-year contract extension he signed before the 2008 season – his third in the league. That figure includes a $500,000 performance bonus he earned last season.

This guy is not asking for much is he? ;)

Andre Johnson dispelled any notions of this guy being tough.

Finnegan does seem to be a guy tailor made for Rob's defense.

But yeah....I don't see the need. Unless Newman's injury is worse than what's been reported.

How so?

If a bigger man beats a smaller man that means the smaller man isn't tough?

The fact he stood up to Johnson and got him thrown out of the game means he got into Johnson's head. If you're going to have a smaller guy, he'd better be able to go against bigger receivers. Finnagan can do that.

Punks stand up to get beat down. And that's exactly what happened to Finnegan. All he could do was grin like a chump after Andre Johnson 2 pieced him. It doesnt take a 'tough guy' to antagonize one of the more quiet-mannered stars in the league for 4 quarters and then get owned.

It was actually meant as a sarcastic remark toward the guy, nothing more.

However he didn't stand up to anyone. He started to come after him, realised he was going to get man handled, and did everything he could to get away and then stood back smiling, and chirping, only after people had Andre pulled away.

He's not tough in that manner he's a punk whose scared.

Pass.

He is a decent, but not great CB who is more trouble than he is worth. If he walks out this season because his contract doesn't satisfy him, then he will do so again. Would you still be wanting him if he had just walked out of Cowboys Camp while negotiations and offers were still being exchanged? We are hardly in desperation mode.

The preseason is young. Better opportunities will arise and if a suitable opportunity arises then perhaps a move could be warranted. I am more than willing to give our own youngsters an opportunity first before we start grasping at whatever is available at any given moment.

Finnegan's goal was to get Johnson out of his game. It worked.

I'm not condoning his approach. But he's more than tough as far as I'm concerned. If he weren't tough, he wouldn't have dared challenge Johnson.

Fair enough.

What precipitated that, though. I think he had been challenging Johnson, putting his hands on him, pushing him, mixing it up and adding a little trash talk.

And Johnson finally snapped. Then he gets thrown out of the game. Removing my morality from it, if this is a big game (that's debatable as far as the Houston-Tennessee game), and I want my player to take out the best receiver, then I'm not complaining about what Finnegan did. Yes, he did get a beat down. But what would you expect from a bigger man?
