Dallas Cowboys (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Dallas_Cowboys) defensive end Marcus Spears (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Marcus_Spears) was interviewed by Norm Hitzges on KTCK-AM 1310 on Monday (8/8) to discuss the Cowboys and the upcoming season. Here are some highlights:
On his feelings he was going to be cut by the Cowboys:
"Based on the history, it didn't look like that was going to happen [stay with the team]. But I'm a man of faith, I believe in God, and I believe where he wanted and needed me to be. Everything worked out, everything fell into place, and I'm happy to be back where I'm supposed to me."
You had no indications the Cowboys wanted you back?
"Absolutely none. That's why our last conversation was about keeping things wide open and waiting for this whole thing to come to pass. But these guys got on the phone with my agents, and they got on the phone with me, and they wanted to make it happen. I was excited when we got to a point where we both met in the middle."
