The Cowboys have avoided a major blow to their special teams units, as coverage standout Danny McCray is expecting to return to practice in just a day or two following what at first appeared to be a fairly serious injury Thursday night.

"It just depends on how it feels when I get out," McCray said. "The way I'm recovering now, it's going pretty fast. So I should be back out there full speed pretty soon."

McCray said the pain was more to his ribs than his shoulder, however, X-rays were negative.

That looked really bad when it happened. Glad to see we haven't lost our best special teams player.

Glad to hear it's nothing serious. McCray is a true special teams demon. Love the fact he wears #40 too.

It would be cool if the Cowboys made that sort of a tradition, giving the #40 to the team's special team standout in honor of Bill Bates. Sort of the same idea USC does with the #55.
