This is the third of our weekly educated guess at what the Cowboys' 53-man roster will look like after final cuts.

QUARTERBACKS (3)
Tony Romo (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/5209/tony-romo)
Jon Kitna (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/1383/jon-kitna)
Stephen McGee (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/12478/stephen-mcgee)

At some point, McGee either needs to move up the depth chart or the Cowboys will have to move on from him. For now, he appreciates the opportunity to continue learning from Kitna.

RUNNING BACKS (4)
Felix Jones (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/11256/felix-jones)
DeMarco Murray (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/14005/demarco-murray)
Tashard Choice (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/11359/tashard-choice)
Lonyae Miller (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13615/lonyae-miller)

Why would we keep 4 RBs? Not to mention the 2 in question, Miller/Tanner aren't likely to get picked up by another team unless they really show something in the next game or so. And if that happens, then I would just trade choice over keeping 4 RBs.

Other than Miller, not bad. I think Geathers sneaks in, and/or a vet OL is signed.

Really do not trust Holland at all.

TIGHT ENDS (3)
Jason Witten
Martellus Bennett
John Phillips

Why hasn't Phillips moved up? He's the one making the plays.

Ogletree is letting an opportunity slip through his hands.

Just like last year. If Harris isn't deemed to be ready, then yes, bring in a veteran.

I swear the league needs to increase the rosters to 60.....but with that being said....4 RBs? I could see if we were a smashmouth team, but we aren't. We are a finesse offense. 3 RBs is plenty. Jones and Murray are on the team. Choice, Miller, and Tanner should be competing for the final spot. I like Choice, but for some reason, and I am not sure if they really are, but the team seems down on him.

Also, it is kind of odd to run a 3-4 and only keep 8 LBs.....

What plays? :laugh2:

I like McMahon's idea of keeping Rucker and no fullback. Let Phillips get on the field as an H-back and blocker and give us another receiving threat.

I imagine most 4-3 teams keep 6, enough to go 2 deep at all 4 spots

Is that a guess or is that what the coach's are saying? Because I haven't heard that from anyone but this writer.

Good idea-Rucker -is better than our fullbacks.
